Jonny Bairstow comes out now with his lunch not yet digested.
I don't need to remind you about his Test form with the bat.

It was a strange delivery. It hit two-thirds up the stumps. It was a bang in ball that never climbed.

That kept a bit low, he went back into his stumps and missed it. Buttler has to go.
Buttler b Cummins 1 (Eng 85-5)
Bowled him. What's that noise? It's the sound of any English optimism disappearing.
Michael Vaughan said these two would have to reach tea for England to have a chance and Jos Buttler is out in the first over after lunch.
He is bowled playing a defensive stroke to Pat Cummins. It's a good ball to be fair. It just flicked the top of off.

Mountains are there to be climbed, Philip...
Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
England have got it all to do. A mountain to climb.
64.5 overs remaining
Pat Cummins starts with the ball and Jos Buttler pokes at the ball and misses.
Not the most convincing of starts.

There's a rousing cry of support from the crowd as Stokes and Buttler walk down from the dressing room.
It's not as hopeful a cheer as we heard last night when England had all 10 wickets intact.
The players are going to reemerge any minute now.
If Stokes and Buttler get themselves in, it's going to be one of those afternoons where you're scared to move in fear of jinxing something.

Everyone calling for Roy and Denly's heads after one Ashes match. Surely you've got to give top level sportsmen the chance to learn from their mistakes and adjust. Wholesale changes now won't help stability at the top of the order.
Peter in London.
Keep your thoughts and suggestions coming if you want changes for the second Test.

Olly: Changes for the second Test - Crawley/Sibley/Vince in for Denly, a rest for Bairstow he looks shot with the bat, Leach for Ali and need to get Archer into the side.
England are a little fortunate Jos Buttler is still there.
On another day this one could have gone against him.

Don't buy this 'play your normal game' nonsense. This is elite level sport. Is it too much to expect the lads to adapt to the situation slightly?
Conrad Pitkethly.
Bear with me here because it sounds a really obvious thing to say but Joe Denly just keeps on getting out.
He looks good for a while but then finds a way to be dismissed. I don't see a massive weakness in his game but he is yet to make a telling score in his Test career.
This wasn't the greatest shot with a short leg and leg slip in play.

There's not a great deal of fancy dress in the Hollies, but there are two fellas in Ryder Cup shirts, and hats and shorts of the European flag. Either they are at the wrong event or they've been on an incredible bender since last September.
I'm not sure you're going to find much support for a Keaton Jennings recall, Tom.

Tom Blakey: I'd be more than happy to see Ollie Pope or maybe even Keaton Jennings in the squad. Stick with Roy. He just needs some time. Denly has to go.
