That is a big wicket for Australia.
Roy c&b Cummins 2 (Eng 9-1)
I dunno, opening in Test cricket might not be Jason Roy's forte.
This is not a good look. Roy gets squared up and into a tangle at a shortish delivery from Pat Cummins, and a leading edge pops high into the air. Cummins, who is a terrific athlete, keeps his eye on the ball as he goes jogging backwards and settles himself for a good catch.
Not ideal...
Rory Burns is in good touch...

Jason Roy is much happier with a delivery that he can tuck off his pads for one, before Rory Burns shoulders arms to a fine, off stump teaser to end the over.

Steve Smith has been taken for a precautionary X-ray on his arm after being hit by Jofra Archer.
Well then. Josh Hazlewood gets one to jag back and Jason Roy plays all around it, getting a thump on his stomach for his troubles.
Oh, that's an edge - but it's just short of second slip! Roy absolutely wasn't in control of that push forward.

All set for J Roy to announce himself in Test cricket with a quick-fire ton and give the bowlers enough time to win the Test!
Ben, Warwick
Burns 7, Roy 1
Pat Cummins, three slips lurking, comes charging in to Jason Roy, giving him nothing to nudge and nurdle away.
Roy settles for some punchy back foot defence - oh, and he gets himself off the mark as Cummins strays onto his legs and he gets clipped for a healthy single.

Unusual for the Nursery Ground not to be full of punters. It has been closed because the grass is so wet.
Another gentle push from Rory Burns adds a couple to the slender total, before he lets a bit of nonsense from Hazlewood go whizzing down the leg side.

I think England's batsmen need to have a bit of a go and then have a crack at Australia tomorrow. There is still enough in this pitch.
Whoops! Rory Burns pushes his first ball through the covers and Nathan Lyon, fielding in the deep, makes an absolute meal of his slide along the ground to stop the ball reaching the ropes. That'll be four.

The game is at an interesting stage. For the limited time we have had it has been a great Test match. Will Jason Roy come out and play a one-day innings? I think that has to be on England's mind to get the runs up.
And from the Nursery End, it'll be Josh Hazlewood.

Cricket Australia have given a media briefing on Steve Smith during the interval. Smith didn't want to come off when he was hit on the neck but under protocols he was assessed and told to come off. He was then in the pavilion for 40 minutes and was assessed again for 20 minutes and was cleared. He wanted to go out to bat again and did so.

Jason Roy is on a pair, after his three-ball duck in the first innings.
He has a bit of awkward back-foot fiddle at a back of a length delivery from Pat Cummins and he can't nudge his way off the mark.

RateTheRef: Chris Jordan needs to do more scouting.
There's 41 overs left today, in theory. More realistically, we can play until 19:00 BST.
Runs! One of them, to be precise, as Rory Burns tickles Pat Cummins off his hip.
Lead by 8
And Rory Burns promptly lets the first ball of the innings slide past his off stump.
Pat Cummins has the new ball in his hand, pawing at the ground, and it'll be Rory Burns to take strike.
This could be quite... aggressive.
