We've had a lot of rain but this Test has still been a blast. For the final time this week it's time for me to hand you over to Jamie Lillywhite. What excitement will he have to bring you? Stay tuned to find out.

    The draw is still favourite.

Australia look a little bit flat. Pat Cummins didn't really get them through as well. There was no real aggression and they sort of just let it happen.

Losing the first hour of that session has spoiled things a bit by taking more time out of the game but we could still have a big finish.

Stokes and Buttler have played really well.

Australia would have been well on top with a few early wickets.

No risks taken, they've just played a very solid session. It's really going to set them up for after lunch. Will they come out and be a bit more aggressive, and really take the game on?

A very good session for England. They have reached lunch without losing a wicket.

    Well batted.

    That was a wicket-taking delivery.

We're trying to come up with ways to type Labuschagne's name right. Amy suggests 'La -Bus-Change' but with the N and G the other way around.

    Not bad.

He isn't bowling yet though with Lyon continuing. He bowls one that scuttles along the ground to Stokes. If that was in line then it would have cleaned him up.

If Labuschagne had taken a catch yesterday, it would have been 'caught sub' on the scorecard. but if he takes one today it'll go down as 'c Labuschagne'. It's the sort of things us scorers love!

There are only a few minutes to go until lunch. There's probably only time for one more over. Labuschagne bowls leg spin if you haven't seen him before.

Four more runs are added to England's total thanks to some leg byes off Jos Buttler's pad. Peter Siddle was appealing for one of the most optimistic lbws.

Interesting. Paine has just told Labuschagne to warm up. I wonder if Steve Smith would have got the same nod if he'd still been on.

Ben Stokes' fifty came from 106 balls with seven fours in 127 minutes. He got a pair in his first Test at Lord's but has now got at least one fifty in five of his next six Tests here.

When these two came together at 71-4 England were only 79 ahead. Had they not stopped the Aussie charge then England would have been right in the mire.

Ian: The more I think about it England really should be positive and go all out for a win here! With two Tests in September where the light becomes much more an issue on top of this pretty awful summer we need to win this Test and without Smith the chance is bigger of that

  16. Eng 150-4published at 51.3 overs

Nice. Jos Buttler repeats that drive for four off Lyon from earlier. This is beautiful as well. England are getting on top.

It's Stokes' second half-century of the series. He's had a fine summer with the bat. He's a really determined cricketer.

Ben Stokes calmly moves to fifty. It's his second of the series in the second match. He's good.

Zak in South London: I'm a big Chelsea fan. I have tickets for Frank Lampard's homecoming today, but I think I'd rather stay at home and watch the cricket. Archer's spell yesterday was really special.

Mitch is nervous. Could England still pull off something special?

How long would they need to bowl Australia out? 45 overs? There 70 left in the day.
