There's a bit of nervous energy in my body. I still feel like there's a result here.

It's a bit quiet now but will something dramatic still happen in this match? We're seeing why it's never easy to bat T20 style on a fifth day. There's uneven bounce in the pitch.
Stokes comes down the pitch again and Siddle doesn't like it. Two bouncers in a row.

Time for a dart with 150 up?
Stokes charges down the pitch to Siddle. He doesn't middle it and gets two.

England have had a very good first hour.
Stokes 46, Buttler 25
A landmark reached. England now lead by 150.
Cameron Bancroft dives across to his right to try and take another stunning catch at short leg. Was there an inside edge off Buttler's bat? I'm not so sure. It fell safely anyway.
Lyon then rips a beauty beyond Stokes. There's still something there for the bowlers.

Robin Keck: So, in summary, Steve Smith hit a couple of majestic fours yesterday when suffering with concussion ...I struggle to hit the ball off the square for Stansted 2nd XI when at the peak of my game.

Ben Stokes was walking down the pitch to 90mph bowler Josh Hazlewood a little earlier and he's doing it even more to the slightly slower Peter Siddle.
Just imagine walking towards a 90mph bowler for a second. Crazy.

Matt in Battersea: Re Amy (13:07), The Latchmere has both on! Though, as a Palace fan, I'd probably rather they just stuck to the cricket ...
Peter Siddle is on for his first bowl of the morning.

Richard Thirkettle: England's priority must be to save this Test and move forward to Leeds. The silly talk here of a small lead and Australia being bowled out cheaply is simply rash.

The running is the other benefit of these two batting together for England. They're super fit and quick. Two runs are turned into three.
Here's that lovely cover drive from earlier by Buttler...
I mean... come on. I love both cricket and football but that's not right!

Amy in Chiswick: There should be an implicit rule that if and when an Ashes Test goes to day five with as much excellent play as we've seen in this Test, that Crystal Palace vs Sheffield shouldn't take priority over the TV in my local pub.
Lead by 145
A good over for England. Nine runs from it.

England have probably had a boost of confidence with the way Jofra bowled yesterday and then with Steve Smith being out. This really could go in England's favour- and Australia haven't bowled as well as you'd like here.
The crowd are starting to enjoy themselves at the sight of Aussies diving to stop the ball in vain. Buttler skews one off the outer part of his bat and the ball is cheered all the way to the boundary.

Jos Buttler fell over at the non-striker's end and the ball was nowhere near him!
Oh yes, Ben Stokes. The shot of the day. He drills one back past Josh Hazlewood's boot for four.
Jos Buttler has to turn back to make his ground again at the non-striker's end.
