If England hadn't won that it would've hurt so much given all the opportunities they had earlier in the Test.

Now it's just a totally different feel. Out of nowhere.

The Ashes is locked at 1-1 with two Tests to play.

    LOVELY STUFF.

We can park that feature on 'How England threw away the Ashes' and how they need to make eight changes for Old Trafford.

Ben Stokes and Joe Root have known each other since they were kids. That hug in the middle of the square brings a tear to the eye.

The bit that got me in that innings - we know about his power, but after he hit two sixes in a row, he spotted the field had dropped deep so just knocked it into a gap for two.

That presence of mind, that clarity of thought is astonishing.

All credit to the Australians, who lined up to a man to shake Ben Stokes' hand as he came off the pitch.

Test cricket has its issues. Its detractors. But that was as good as sport gets.

What a class cricketer Ben Stokes is. Amazing with bat, ball and in the field.

Is there a better all-rounder in the world right now?

Those last few overs had everything. And I thought the World Cup final was a decent finish.

Ben Stokes was so out lbw. And Australia had no reviews left.

Nathan Lyon should have had a run out tooo. England took the luck as it came.

That is an amazing innings from Ben Stokes.

It was a poor finish from an Australian perspective.

That wasted review lost them the Test.

To do that after the World Cup final. Those are once in a lifetime innings.

And he's done two in six weeks.
