England should be trying to restrict Steve Smith to 120 across two innings in this game. I'd take that.
Denly dropped at fourth slip by Harris in final over of the day
Archer takes 6-62 as Australia bowled out for 225
Burns takes brilliant catch to remove last man Siddle
Smith - dropped at slip on 66 - top scores with 80
Curran earlier took two wickets in two balls
England bowled out for 294 - Buttler 70, Marsh 5-46
Australia - 2-1 up in series - have already retained Ashes
Australia won toss; 5th Test, day two, The Oval

George Vizor: I’ve not broken anything, but Steve Smith has broken me!
Declan Clark: Just my soul. He broke that. and then he did it again. And again. And again.
Oh, Steve Smith.
It's a poor floaty delivery from Stuart Broad but it's absolutely crunched to the cover boundary. Glorious.
Stuart Broad really hasn't bowled well post-lunch.
Let's hope Sam Curran gets it swinging this afternoon like his mate Mitchell Marsh was able to yesterday afternoon.

Labuschagne 42 Smith 22
Steve Smith is just milking England here. He picks up a couple with yet another flick off his pads before a good sprawling stop from Jack Leach at mid-off restricts him to just a single to keep the strike.
That's better from Jofra Archer - it's the perfect length to challenge Marnus Labuschagne's defence. He got a thick inside edge on this one though.
Oh that's fast as he has Labuschagne ducking and weaving with a well-directed short ball.

Next time England are in Australia, England are going to have to come up with a Douglas Jardine-type plan to Steve Smith like they had for Don Bradman in Bodyline. Without creating a diplomatic incident, of course.
He misses out next ball though as he crunches a full-blooded drive straight to cover. He's furious that he missed out on that.
Broad comes back well with five dots to end the over.
Oh wow. What a shot this is from Steve Smith. Absolutely glorious.
It's short from Stuart Broad and Smith just rocks onto the back foot and punches through point for four.

Looking at the fields, it looks like England are trying to build the dots and earn a wicket through discipline and consistency.
Steve Smith taps one off his legs for a single before Marnus Labuschagne lets the final two deliveries go harmlessly through to Jonny Bairstow.
It's only been three overs since lunch but England don't look threatening at the moment.

RichChester has got me thinking.
Has anyone broke anything getting frustrated watching Steve Smith bat or England drop a catch this summer?

RichChester: Smith is like the level in an action-adventure computer game where you get stuck, repeating the damn thing for eternity until you throw your controller against the wall.

Walked back to my hotel to retrieve laptop, which I forgot this morning. Tried key card. Didn't work. Negotiate with reception. Key fixed. Laptop found. Walk back. Sweat on.
Oh Marnus Labuschagne has thrown the kitchen sink at this. It's wide from Stuart Broad and the Aussie number three flashes at it and it flies high over where point would have been and away to the boundary.
That's the fifty partnership. Ominous signs for England.

This is the hour. England have to win this hour.
Stuart Broad will get us going from the other end.

This is the session for England to get rid of Steve Smith. If he's still there at tea, he'll get a century. He doesn't give it away once he's set.

Surely Smith's not going to get another ton, is he?
