There's just a bit happening now. Nathan Lyon looks more threatening with two new batsmen at the crease.
Too right. And he's put England in a commanding position. They just need another couple of partnerships to bat Australia out of the game.

Gutting for Joe Denly, but he can take comfort in the fact he has booked his winter tours. If you'd offered him 94 on top of a week when his wife gave birth to a baby girl, he'd have taken it.
Oh you can see how disappointed the England team are. Joe Root's eyes looked straight down to the floor. Ben Stokes has his hands over his face.

Well played, he stuck it out - especially when the quicks were bowling. The ball which got him out, you have to give credit to Peter Siddle. He's suddenly got the ball to nip back and then when the batsman thinks it's going to do that again, he's pushed one the other way. Top class!
Joe Root's stands to applaud Joe Denly from the dressing room. Denly must be gutted but that was a top knock.

It was an over in which anything could have happened - he could have been lbw, bowled and now he's been snared in the slips by Smith.
Denly c Smith b Siddle 94 (Aus 222-4)
Oh no...
There'll be no maiden Test century for Joe Denly. He's nicked this to slip. What a shame. He has to drag himself off. It was a very good over to be fair.
Blimey! Joe Denly's face tells it all. His jaw has dropped. He's been cut in half by one from Siddle that only just clears over middle stump. It beats Paine too. Four byes.
The right decision not to review. It was going down leg.
Close! Joe Denly's heart must be in his mouth. Australia go up for a big lbw appeal. The umpire says no.
It doesn't look as close as the one earlier.
Australia don't review.

With Jonny, we know he's got the shots but it's his defence which is a concern. He can defend though - I've seen him do it.
Denly 94, Bairstow 2
Bairstow needs to give himself chance to get in. If he wants to attack OK but don't go too early.

Bairstow may be under a little bit of pressure but this is a lovely situation to come in. The bowlers are tiring, there are runs on the board and the ball is old.
He gets off the mark with a funny shot, a prod through slip after having to quickly change his mind after initially wanting to sweep.

An Ashes super over should be decided by ranking the best sledges of the series - like jokes at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Tim Paine's miserable Test continues. He fumbles this down the leg side. It has hurt him as well. It looks like it hit him right on the end of a finger.

Bairstow is playing for his place today. Not in our top four wicketkeepers and no longer a quality Test match batsman, he cannot be indulged any longer. Sibley to open and Pope at six must play in NZ. Buttler or Foakes to keep and bat at seven. Denly deserves a chance at three. Great grit and determination if not the same talent as a Roy, Vince or Bairstow. They could learn a lot from him!
Jonathan, Manchester
Denly moves within one hit with a fortunate inside edge for one.
