This game is evenly poised if we go off the worm...
Target 298
We've just seen a replay of that second Stokes lbw appeal. It looks like he might have got a little under-edge on the reverse sweep. That has saved him because otherwise it was straight.
Richardson responds to that boundary from Vince with five consecutive dots.

This was an exceptional piece of timing by James Vince. He perfectly pierced the gap so neither fielder had a chance to get there.
James Vince should know this pitch as good as anyone. He flicks a boundary off his toes. The Hampshire batsman is timing it well.
Australia go up for an lbw to Stokes and Steve Smith thinks this is close from first slip. He wants a review but Aaron Finch decides against it.
Stokes then tries to reverse sweep Lyon and again the Aussies implore the umpire to raise his finger. Again they decide against the review. This one might have hit the glove.

Australia are holding onto England, which not a lot have sides have managed to do recently.
Nathan Lyon is coming on for his first bowl of the day.
Vince 16, Stokes 1
Ben Stokes is in at number four for England with work to do.
I wonder if the pitches in the World Cup are going to be like this one. It is not like the roads we have become used to.

There's not been much fluency at all from the England attack at the moment. Jason Roy seemed to be surprised by the delivery and knew as soon as he hit it that it wasn't right.
Roy c Lyon b Richardson 32 (Eng 65-2)
Another nasty delivery does for Jason Roy. Again there's more bounce than the England opener is expecting and he ends up spooning the ball to Nathan Lyon in the covers. It looks really soft. Roy was hardly even playing a shot. He just lobbed the ball to Lyon but some uneven bounce has done him.
Target 298
This Southampton crowd sounds like it wants to be entertained like it was a few weeks ago. They applaud and cheer as Jason Roy clatters one through the off side but the man in yellow on the boundary rope keeps the runs to one.
Australia are keeping England slightly below the required rate. It won't be anything to panic the hosts yet though.

Roy 29, Vince 13
Kane Richardson is another hipster Aussie player. He runs in with shaggy dark hair and his well-groomed beard.
This pitch continues to cause a few problems. The England players are struggling to time it and there's some variable bounce.
Behrendorff was impressive. He claimed the only wicket so far.
Kane Richardson replaces Jason Behrendorff and his first delivery leaps off a length. That was like a bouncy ball!
Jason Roy groans after being utterly bamboozled.

Not quite the flying start we have seen from this England top order recently, they have not had it all their own way.
Need 245 to win
I'm not sure James Vince is picking Adam Zampa's variations. He's looking a little uncertain.
As I say that he drives at one which goes off the outer part of the bat and runs for four.
Zampa can't believe it. He doubles over with his head in his hands.

This is not the Southampton belter we've become used to - there's something in it for the bowlers.
Target 298
It hasn't been as explosive as we've become used to but England reach 50 at the end of the ninth over.

This is an opportunity for James Vince. There is a thought that he may not be in England's first choice XI so this is as good an opportunity as any to remind everyone what kind of form he is in.
