Rahmat Shah gets off strike with a thick edge down to fine leg.
Here's that beautiful pull shot he played earlier...
This is a much better second over from Nathan Coulter-Nile.
He's beat Rahmat Shah's outside edge with the opening three balls of the over.

Afghanistan have recovered nicely since the early loss of those two wickets.
The partnership is worth 27 now.
Two - including a wide - come off Cummins' fourth over.
Cummins continues for Australia.
Here's how he got danger man Hazratullah Zazai.

For those not immediately familiar with this ground, there’s a rather neat block of flats built into the backdrop at one end with balconies that overlook the ground.
Judging by the scarves draped over this particular one, there might be a bit of moving the television outside in view of the pitch should things get interesting both in the cricket and in Madrid.
I’m yet to spot any Spurs scarves for the benefit of balance and fairness!

John Georgiou: Depending on the Afghanistan first innings, we could be into day four of the World Cup with England as the only team to score more than 250 runs.
A ropey first over from Nathan Coulter-Nile.
You can't afford an off day in this Australia side with Jason Behrendorff and Kane Richardson on the sidelines.
Rahmat Shah looks a player.
Nathan Coulter-Nile strays legside and Rahmat clips through mid-wicket for four.
Wonderful balance from the Afghanistan number three.

That was a gorgeous shot. You could hear the clunk of bat on ball through the open door of the commentary box.
Nathan Coulter-Nile is going to replace Mitchell Starc.

Jas: Terrible decision by Afghanistan to bat first. Surely they'd be better off bowling first, trying to restrict to 250ish and then chase. Could be 120 all out here
Cummins responses with another bouncer that has Rahmat swaying out the way.
He played that well.
Shot!
Rahmat Shah pulls Pat Cummins beautifully to the square leg boundary.
Here's the first wicket of the day.
Are there any better sights than off stump cartwheeling out the ground?

Really good numbers inside the ground on this bumper Saturday of sporting action and for what is the first of three games being played here in the tournament.
I heard officials saying about an hour before the start outside the main ticket office that there were fewer than 500 tickets unsold for this game.
Hopefully the good weather has tempted a few more in at the last minute. Thankfully no sign of any of the problems many spectators experienced outside Trent Bridge on Friday.

Ex-England spinner on Test Match Special
It might just have brushed his hip as umpire Illingworth didn't signal a wide. It was a tactical appeal.
Hashmatullah Shahidi has an awful woft at the opening delivery of Mitchell Starc's third over.
Not sure that's the most advisable stroke in the circumstances.
Australia debate a review off the fourth delivery as Rahmat Shah tries to guide one fine. Replays show it flicked his hip though so wise decision from Finch and co to get their review in the shed.
A streaky drive for one ends the over.

All the games have been one-sided so far and this one is likely to be the same. I hope it improves for the rest of the tournament.
