Pat Cummins looks in good rhythm. Good pace, good line. A proper fast bowler.

Streaky. Very streaky.
Good line and length from Pat Cummins has Rahmat Shah prodding at one outside off stump and he only succeeds in getting a thick inside edge which flies past the stumps and down to the boundary.
Obviously as he says that a well-directed bouncer raps Rahmat Shah on the gloves.
Michael Clarke on Sky thinks the pitch is actually playing quite slowly.

This is the fifth time both openers have been dismissed for a duck at a World Cup. Afghanistan were the bowling team on the previous occasion against Sri Lanka at the 2015 tournament in Dunedin.
Oh that's a cracker from Mitchell Starc.
Hashmatullah Shahidi does well to read the length and pull his hands away before he defends the final ball to point.

Audible sighs around the ground from the Afghanistan supporters as both Shahzad and Hazratullah fell without scoring.
Australia clearly mean business at the start of their World Cup defence and despite losing the toss, skipper Aaron Finch will be pleased as punch with this.
Hashmatullah Shahidi edges the third ball but he plays it with soft enough hands that it is well short of Steve Smith in the slip cordon.
A leg side bouncer is called a wide by Richard Illingworth. Starc isn't impressed and has words on the way back to his mark.
First boundary of the day comes via a gorgeous cover drive from Hashmatullah Shahidi.
That's got the crowd cheering.
Starc responses with a bouncer. Obviously.

We gave the openers a bit of a build up but both are gone without scoring. In fact I think that was the nearest they came to making contact. It was good pace, with good carry and the keeper took it around shoulder height.
Rahmat successfully negotiates the rest of Pat Cummins' over.
The final ball pops up a bit and takes the Afghan batsman by surprise though.
Hashmatullah Shahidi gets off the mark with a thick edge down to third man.
Hazratullah c Carey b Cummins 0 (Afg 5-2)
The danger man has gone!
It's wide and floaty from Pat Cummins and Hazratullah Zazai goes for a big booming drive.
Unfortunately for the left hander and Afghanistan, he gets a thick outside edge which Alex Carey pouches in front of first slip's face.
Rahmat skies the free hit straight up in the air and Nathan Coulter-Nile jogs round to take the catch.
Afghanistan jog a single.
And he starts with a no-ball...
Pat Cummins is going to get the other new ball.
New Zealand are playing Sri Lanka in the day's early game.
The Kiwis won the toss and elected to bowl first on a very green wicket.
That decision has been vindicated with Sri Lanka all out for 136.
New Zealand are just about to get their chase underway, you can follow that with Amy Lofthouse here.
The final delivery is slightly leg side from Starc and goes through to Alex Carey via Hazratullah's pad.
Great start for Australia.
Afghanistan and Rahmat are off the mark with a flick through mid-wicket for three.

It was very full in length, that is what Starc is so good at. It might have swung a fraction but Shahzad was not in a good position and was late on it.
