These times where the England players can get away between matches can be really crucial because you want to switch off for a little bit. Golf is always something I enjoy.

The players are ready to go again and so is Joel Wilson.

On we go. 17 overs remain.

One of the great things about having a World Cup in this country is there will be a lot of support for a lot of the teams and it makes for a great atmosphere. I hope it continues.

  4. drinks break

Drinks breakpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 8 June 2019

As drinks come onto the field, umpire Joel Wilson jogs off.

Hopefully that's just a toilet break and nothing to do with his collision with Jason Roy earlier (see 12:51).

The England boys bounce back from a bad game. I don't think they dwell on the poor performances too much, they are always looking to see how they can improve for the next game.

Mehedi Hasan is back in the attack, replacing Shakib Al Hasan who got the treatment from Jason Roy a couple of overs ago.

Roy steps away and looks to repeat the attacking shots but when the ball is not quite there to hit he calmly hits the ball along the ground for one.

He has 132 from 113 balls.

  7. Watch: Roy clatters into the umpire on his way to a centurypublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 8 June 2019

Have you ever seen anything like this?!

Not the way Jason Roy would have imagined celebrating his century...

  8. Eng 208-2published at 32 overs

    Roy 130, Buttler 1

You can forgive Bangladesh for going for that review. It was Jos Buttler. They will be desperate to see the back of him but ultimately it was missing by a few inches.

Buttler gets off the mark a couple of balls later.

The first angle looked out but the one from directly behind the stumps you could see it was nowhere near.

Missing! It was going on to miss leg stump.

Loud cheers ring around Cardiff. Jos Buttler survives.

The bowler was very keen but the keeper not so much which can often be telling. But this is close.

  12. Postpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 8 June 2019

Buttler has come a long way across his stumps. This looks close but might be umpire's call.

But has Jos Buttler been dismissed first ball?

Bangladesh appeal for lbw. It's given not out but they go upstairs.

As he left the field, Joe Root collected at least two pairs of batting gloves that were lying on the boundary edge. In his BBC Sport column, Mark Wood told us that Root is a big glove-changer. England often put the used gloves in the tumble dryer in order to get them back out to Root, or Wood sometimes lends Root his gloves.

    Read that column here.

Joe will be disappointed with this shot. There's not much grip off the surface - I'm not sure where he wanted to hit that, into the leg side perhaps?

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 31.3 overs

    Root b Saifuddin 21 (Eng 205-2)

From nowhere! Bangladesh have a wicket.

Mohammad Saifuddin rolls his fingers across a slower ball and Joe Root tries to hack it across the line. It's an ugly shot and Root inside edges it onto his stumps.
