  1. 100 runs

100 for Roypublished at 26.5 overs

    It's all going on.

Jason Roy knocks what looks like a single into the deep but the Bangladesh fielder dives over it and that's four. It's Roy's hundred!

But there's no big celebration because while watching the ball go to the rope, Roy has clattered into umpire Joel Wilson and knocked him to the turf. It looked nasty, with Wilson whacking his head off the ground, but he's soon up and smiling and signalling the boundary.

Every time Roy gets past 80 I think 'is this the day he scored 200?'. No England batsman has ever done that in ODIs remember. Still a long way to go.

A single takes him to 96.

Lee Jones: This is looking ominous for a big score - you can see Roy cutting loose soon and 370+ could be on the cards.

Two dots but then a wide from The Fizz. More loose stuff from Bangladesh releases any pressure that was building.

Bangladesh haven't reacted to what they have seen once they got out there, they should have gone with spin.

Bangladesh have got to make sure the wheels don't come off. There has been one brilliant catch but more fumbles.

  8. Eng 160-1published at 26 overs

    Roy 95, Root 11

The scoring has slowed a little since the Jonny Bairstow wicket. The rate has been just below fives since the wicket.

Bangladesh have been scrappy in the field today. England steal an extra run when no-one backs up a throw and an overthrow is taken.

Six runs from this over without any real intent from England. Jason Roy is one whack away from a ton.

Robert Stow: Not saying it’ll be today or even this tournament but Roy bats so well one day he’ll bat all 50 overs and be the first England player past 200.

    Thanks JL.

Jason Roy is closing in on his century. He has hit some thumping shots so far...

  11. Eng 154-1published at 25 overs

Singles again against Mustafizur. Some big overs for England so far then after being put into bat, but can they get past 342 as the highest ODI score at Sophia Gardens? What is a good total in these conditions? All this and more to be discovered as we hand to Matt Henry.

I don't think Bangladesh have got their tactics right. I don't think they have bowled enough spin. I would be taking pace off the ball.

  13. Bairstow out for 51published at 12:11 British Summer Time 8 June 2019

Just the one wicket to fall so far then and what a good catch it was. There really have been some super efforts in the tournament.

  14. Eng 150-1published at 24 overs

    Run-rate 6.25

Mortaza has deduced that it is hard enough running into this stiff breeze and has wisely cut his run down. A sprinkling of singles and it's 1-36 from seven for the skipper. The 150 up for England.

Roy converted five of his nine prior scores of 50+ into centuries (ODI cricket) before today.

    Roy 86, Root 5

Mehidi traps Roy on the pad but there is no review - we have yet to see one in the match - and the England opener arches back to the next one to launch it high towards the big boundary at mid-wicket. It bounces just in front of the rope and away for his 11th four.
