  1. WI 158-5published at 33 overs

Andre Russell is here for a good time, not a long time.

He has a huge swipe at Adil Rashid's first ball and just, somehow, avoids inside edging onto his stumps.

Russell unfurls a forward defensive before a big swipe down the ground brings him a single.

He's a good player, Pooran. He's gifted, a natural striker of the ball and he runs well between the wickets. But he's got to lock himself in for the rest of the innings now and see where it takes the West Indies.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Pooranpublished at 32.1 overs

A simple little flick from Nicholas Pooran and that brings up his half-century from 56 deliveries.

West Indies need him to go deep now.

England have got a great chance of restricting West Indies to 230 all out here.

You have to give Root credit there - he held the ball back, a little bit like a seamer's delivery.

    Holder c&b Root 9 (WI 156-5)

    And now he's out!

This is a bad ball, bad shot, and a bad result from Jason Holder. It's full, into the pads, and there's none of the turn that Holder is playing for. He pops the ball up and it's a comfortable catch for Joe Root in his follow through. Holder looks disconsolate as he trudges off.

That is the most beautiful six you will see. Beautiful balance. Lovely.

  9. 6 runs

    WI 156-4published at 31.5 overs

    Oh! What a shot!

This is the most leisurely shot from Jason Holder, simply plonking one of those long legs forward and hoicking Joe Root down the ground for six.

It's pleasing to see there's no sign of any discomfort from Jos Buttler, who aggravated that hip injury against Bangladesh and couldn't keep wicket.

  11. WI 147-4published at 31 overs

Does that mean it'll be Joe Root opening up with Jonny Bairstow? Or will England take a risk and give Jos Buttler an early look at the West Indies bowlers?

Tidy over again from Adil Rashid and just two solitary singles come from it.

That feels like the obvious thing to do with Roy. It's a long tournament.

  13. Roy unable to fieldpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 14 June 2019
    Breaking

An update from England - Jason Roy will not field for the rest of the innings with tightness in his left hamstring.

That means he won't be able to bat until number seven at the earliest.

  14. WI 145-4published at 30 overs

A nasty full toss from Joe Root to Jason Holder first up, but Root gets away with it as Holder can only bunt it down the ground for a single.

You feel West Indies will need to get at least 300 to put England under pressure.

It was a good catch. Root used his experience there - he rushed through his over and built the pressure.

You could feel the pressure building there.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 29.5 overs

    Hetymer c&b Root 39 (WI 144-4)

    Well, that felt rather inevitable.

Shimron Hetmyer had been getting a little antsy, unable to work the spinners away, and he mistimes a simple flick off his pads. Joe Root moves to his left, sticks both hands out and takes a comfortable catch before dancing away in celebration.

Our guesstimate is that Jason Roy won't be able to bat in the top six if he stays off the field.
