Kumaran Ravendradas‏: Darren Gough was the one who cut the big area of his bowling boots to give his toes more space when he hit the crease. Could easily estimate how quick he was bowling in a spell by seeing the length of cricket sock sticking out of the boot. What a great bowler he was.

Just listen to this roar - the crowd were in electric voice during the early flow of wickets...

Riding The Road‏: Every time I watch NZ play I'm struck that they seem to win because they remember it's a 50-over game and bat accordingly. England constantly look like they're playing Twenty20 - sometimes that's spectacular but it's very high risk.

Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur seems happy enough with that total. As happy as he gets, anyway.

I think that is a winning total.

That is a very good total from where they were.

Pakistan will need to chase down 238 to win then on a pitch that was offering all sorts first up. A tough, tough ask if you ask me.

    Brilliant finish from Jimmy Neesham!

  10. NZ 237-6published at 50 overs

A strange old innings all round.

New Zealand will end it happy enough, they looked in dire straits at 83-5 but Jimmy Neesham slogs a massive six off the last ball to end on 97 not out!

Imagine how annoyed you'd be to end on that...

Wahab, just stick your hand up and say sorry to your captain - that was your fault!

  13. NZ 229-6published at 49.4 overs

Sloppy fielding allows NZ another single. Like clubcard points, they all add up.

  14. NZ 226-6published at 49.3 overs

Santner picks a single off the first ball off the last and he's not happy with himself before Neesham runs a sharp two.

Very lazy lookalike that. Just a man in glasses.

Derek Pringle and Flintoff, I'm told. Toes out. That rings a bell.

Six off the over. Pakistan will take that.

  19. NZ 220-6published at 48.3 overs

Yorker, yorker. Amir bowling very nicely in his final over. He's split the toes of his boots as well. Who was it who used to bowl with the toes cut out? Harmison?

  20. How's stat?!published at 15:10 British Summer Time 26 June 2019

That was the fifth highest sixth-wicket partnership in World Cup history for any side.
