Fenners: The real New Zealand have shown up here: played the easy teams first while the sun shone, got a lucky point with a washout v India, and scraped home unconvincingly in 3 matches. This is no surprise at all.

"Pakistan, zindabad," rings out as Shaheen Afridi charges in to Jimmy Neesham.

They can't hit him off the square at the minute. Neesham has a big booming swing and a miss outside his off stump.

Oh! Kane Williamson nearly gets out three times to one ball!

He sweeps, misses, and is almost bowled. He then loses his balance, coming close to knocking his bat into the stumps, and he manages to get his foot back before Sarfaraz can think about getting the bails off.

It's got to be Wahab time soon, surely?

    Shaheen 3-9

Shaheen's first ball to Neesham is another beaut, just evading the edge as the batsman rather prodded at it. He's on fire, the kid.

The noise in this ground when Pakistan take a wicket is phenomenal! I thought it was loud at Edgbaston during the Ashes but it's nothing on this.

    Shaheen Afridi!

He's got 3-9 from 4.3 overs! Brilliant bowling. He gets this one to just shape away a touch and Tom Latham, tempted into a little nibble outside his off stump, sends a faint edge through to Sarfaraz.

We were just chatting about this.

Pakistan's 1992 World Cup results - lost, won, no result, lost, lost, won, won, won, qualified for semis, won, won the entire thing.

Their 2019 results - lost, won, no result, lost, lost, won - and now they've got the opposition three down for not a lot.

If you're wondering why Daggers said this could be bad news for England...

If Pakistan win this and their remaining two games they would be on 11 points. If England lose one of their two remaining games they would be on 10 and be out if Pakistan perform as said. But if the rain wipes just one of Pakistans games out, they would both be on 10 and net run rate would come into effect.
