Was it too leg side, that's the thing?

    GOT HIM! Surely?!

This looked plumb lbw on the hat-trick ball.

Again a very full ball, giving it every chance to reverse. The pitch is quite rough, maybe the ball is getting excoriated and gripping in the air.

    Starc b Boult 0 (Aus 243-8)

Gone first ball! Mitchell Starc spends more time walking to the middle than standing at the crease. He is beaten by a swinging yorker. Lovely.

    Hat-trick anyone?

A very full ball, he wanted to go leg side so tippy--toed across his stumps. It was a very full ball and beat the stroke.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 49.3 overs

    Khawaja b Boult 88 (Aus 243-7)

Bowled! Khawaja's go-to plan has been to step across and heave to leg. He tries again but is bowled by a yorker around his legs.

He has played an important innings for the Aussies from number three, holding things together. He goes for 88 from 129.

  10. Aus 243-6published at 49.2 overs

New Zealand are protecting the boundaries. Cummins nabs a single.

  11. Aus 242-6published at 49.1 overs

Just another single for Khawaja. It doesn't look like he'll scrap to three figures.

  12. Postpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 29 June 2019

Trent Boult will bowl the final over.

  13. Aus 241-6published at 49 overs

    Well...

The pitch has been causing problems so if you're a bowler you've gotta use it. Don't bowl a full toss! Pat Cummins swats it away.

A positive punch of the gloves from the Aussies. They like that.

  14. Aus 237-6published at 48.5 overs

Australia can't find the boundary. Only Alex Carey has really managed it today.

  15. Aus 234-6published at 48.3 overs

Thanks for following, Joe! My colleague Jack Skelton, a regular live-texter on these pages, is there on a well-earned weekend off. If you hear someone ranting about Ian Bell, that'll be him.

Ferguson beats Khawaja with a bouncer as the batsman attempts a ramp.

Joe, live from Glastonbury but actually from Liverpool

  17. Aus 233-6published at 48.1 overs

Lockie Ferguson will bowl the penultimate over.

He goes fast and full. Khawaja takes one.

That's a reasonable over from Boult - you can live with eight from the over.

It looks like 250, which looks like the absolute outside of what New Zealand can achieve.

  19. Aus 232-6published at 48 overs

Pat Cummins ends the over by keeping things ticking with a well-run two. Australia will be delighted to have got this many from 92-5.

  20. Aus 230-6published at 47.5 overs

    Short ball... Missed.

    Full ball... flicked for one.

Decent bowling from Trent Boult but is this too late for New Zealand. Have they let this one get away?
