Something would have to go badly wrong for Australia not to get 230.
Cummins gives Khawaja the strike back...

230 is about the absolute outside you can expect to chase in these conditions. It's not easy.
How has Cummins got away with this one?! He hoists the ball a mile into the sky again but somehow it comes down in a area of unmanned grass. Cummins gets nine from the over without finding the middle once.
Three to go.
Jimmy Neesham leaps like Jimmy Montgomery on the boundary rope to parry away the ball and prevent another boundary.
Cummins has another go, this time over off, but the ball falls in a gap. Lucky.

It shows the value of biding your time on a pitch like this, and it's hard to stop Khawaja scoring right now.
Ferguson will hope he doesn't have to bat later but if he does Pat Cummins might remember this. Another short one narrowly misses his grille.
A fast bowler rarely forgets. Six from the over. Four to go.
Pat Cummins is the latest batsman to see their life flash before their eyes as Lockie Ferguson drills another quick bouncer into the pitch halfway down.
A nifty piece of evasive action and Cummins gets out of the way.
A soft end to a very good knock...
Maybe Khawaja will apply the big finish. A second boundary in three balls. This time he goes after a wide delivery from Ferguson. Not great bowling to be fair.
I guess if Australia do win this then Usman Khawaja will be praised for playing a brilliant innings. If they lose then there could be suggestions he batted too slow, unless he does somethign special in these last five overs.
Invention from Khawaja. He reverse sweeps Sodhi up and over short third man for four.
Leg-spinner Ish Sodhi is back. An interesting choice for the latter stages but effective so far.

The horse has bolted. I think when you get a team like Australia down, you must keep the foot on the throat.
Boult, the main and senior bowler, doesn't return until the 40th over - that's too long.
Khawaja 69, Cummins 1
Usman Khawaja has to quickly duck out of the way another Ferguson bouncer. He stares at the square leg umpire, clearly expecting a wide to be called but the official disagrees.
Good over from Ferguson. Can the Kiwis squeeze after that good partnership?

Re Paul at 16:10: Cricket is important but what is more important is the health of Paul's dog! Update please and hope all is well ??

Dog more important than one day of cricket. Hope she's alright.

It's fast bowler v fast bowler as Lockie Ferguson steams in to Cummins.
The Aussie wins the first battle, nudging the ball for one to get off the mark.
Pat Cummins is the new batsman. Australia have Mitch Starc, Jason Behrendorff and Nathan Lyon to come.

He tries to go up and over, inside out, over extra cover, but with the nature of this surface that was a nice easy one for Guptill.
Carey c Guptill b Williamson 71 (Aus 199-6)
That's an important wicket for New Zealand! Alex Carey won't be able to pile on more runs at the end. He goes for a very good 71 from 72 balls, chipping Kane Williamson straight to extra cover.
Martin Guptill takes the catch. It was a lot easier than his one earlier.
