  1. Ban 125-3published at 27 overs

    Target 316

These two are going to have to up it a bit if Bangladesh are going to win. The required rate has crept over eight.

    Shakib's scores in this tournament - 75, 64, 121, 124*, 41, 51, 66, plus this.

    Not bad.

50 for Shakibpublished at 26 overs

    Thanks Jamie.

As I take over, Shakib al Hasan reaches his fifty. I feel like I've written that a lot in this tournament.

This is his seventh score of 50 or more in the tournament in eight innings. Wow.

  4. Ban 115-3published at 25 overs

    Target 316

Singles again in the Imad over as the rate passes eight for the first time but Matthew Henry saw a lot of boundaries in his last spell so let's see what he can bring you for the remainder of the match. Shakib still there and Pakistan had also made 115 at the halfway stage, although for one wicket, so let's hope for a good finish.

  5. Liton hits a fourpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

A good start from Liton, here's one of his early boundaries.

  6. Ban 112-3published at 24 overs

    Target 316

As a Pakistan supporter takes a nap in the stand, understandable really as he is only a few months old, another unveils a sign asking Ramiz Raja the secret of his luxuriant hair. A very pertinent question. Shadab again from the Pavilion End, they compile a smattering of singles but the required rate is 7.88 now.

  7. Ban 105-3published at 23 overs

    Target 316

Shakib cuts Imad away with a thick edge and it runs away for his fourth boundary. Remarkable consistency from the left-hander, who has not been out for less than 41 in the tournament.

  8. Ban 98-3published at 22 overs

    Target 316

Now then worm fans, we can see how the innings has fluctuated and how they are a little behind Pakistan now, but Liton carves one away off spinner Shadab towards the Tavern Stand and it races away for four.

  9. Mushfiqur edges onto his own stumps and is out for 16published at 16:23 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

Not the result Mushy was looking for.

  10. Ban 92-3published at 21 overs

    Target 316

That's delicate in the extreme from Das, Liton guiding this one from Imad on middle stump away fine past Sarfaraz up at the stumps for his opening boundary.

Surely if two teams finish level on points, their order should be decided by who beat who head to head? Pakistan beat NZ, so would go through at their expense. Isn't that one of the advantages of having everyone play everyone?

    Graham

I love the NZ team but given their really rather abysmal performance in the last few games, I can't help wishing that things had worked out so Bangladesh were going through instead - their spirit and fight have been wonderful to watch.

  12. Ban 86-3published at 20 overs

    Target 316

A superb stop at backward point from Shadab saves four after a Liton drive at Wahab and captain Sarfaraz, holding up after that ball thudded into his elbow at the non-striker's end earlier, races to congratulate his fielder. Pakistan were 94-1 at the 20-over stage.

I'm blaming Bristol for Pakistan not reaching the semi-finals.

Pakistan's match against Sri Lanka on 7 June was one of four games in this tournament abandoned because of a rain.

  14. Ban 83-3published at 19 overs

    Target 316

As a bad back sufferer myself, the angle of Imad's action in delivery from the Nursery End makes me wince a little and he is fizzing them into the batsmen, who are content to rotate the strike with a sprinkling of singles.

It is good cricket from Pakistan. Can Bangladesh weather this storm? They haven't got long to regroup.

  16. Ban 79-3published at 18 overs

    Target 316

What can these two do here, the required rate already up at 7.4? Liton is away with a single off Wahab to retain the strike.

A drinks break follows that wicket and Liton Das is the new batsman, the man who made that superb 94 with Shakib to inspire the chase of 322 against the West Indies.

This is why the two England wins were so impressive. It must have been in the England players' minds that Pakistan would win this game and overtake them if they did win.

Mushfiqur just tried to run that to third man but it was a bit skiddy.

Oh Mushy. The bat was dangling out a bit, like a speculative fishing rod and it came off the inside edge to send the bails flashing and flying.
