JP: How important a role has rain played in this tournament? Very surprised that no reserve days were planned. I understand it's a nightmare to reschedule and sell tickets, but the rain has had a material impact in deciding the top four. India likely would have beat NZ.

A bit of slow left-arm now with Imad, who took two wickets against Afghanistan, having gone wicketless in his three previous spells in the tournament. Just a couple of singles and the required rate is above seven.

Great noise inside this place now. Really has been a terrific atmosphere today.

Flags waving, chants going up and people on their feet (some of them with drums) and that's on both sides.

This game potentially set up for a thrilling run-chase and while they're both going home at the end of it, both sets of supporters keen to roar their team on to victory.

Trying to work out Mushy's kit here, looks to have a long sleeve number under his main Bangladesh shirt, with a sleeveless sweater over the top. You don't see many chunky knits these days do you? All about layers they say. It's warm out there though and there will be plenty of running between the wickets ahead, although there are just two singles in this Wahab over.

  5. Mushfiqur finds the boundary with another fourpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

Great start for Mushy, let's have a look at one of his early boundaries.

  6. Ban 73-2published at 15 overs

    Target 316

The first boundary off Shaheen and what a stroke it is, fizzed down the ground. There is almost a run-out as Mushy seeks a quick single and has to put the brakes on and scurry back to his crease, but the throw misses the target.

  7. Ban 67-2published at 14 overs

    Target 316

The bustling Wahab Riaz enters the attack, with 10 wickets in the tournament to his name, and his first delivery is beautifully dispatched to the boundary by Mushy for his second four.

We saw centuion Imam out hit wicket today. Well, back in the 1995 Old Trafford Test against West Indies, England's Dominic Cork stood on his stumps but none of the Windies' players noticed so there was no appeal.

Cork calmy picked up the bail from the floor, put it back on the stumps and continued batting, going on to make 56 not out in England's first innings.

Cork took eight wickets and was named match of the match as England won by six wickets. Different times indeed.

Here is the luxuriantly quiffed Shaheen claiming the wicket of Tamim with a disguised slower ball.

Mushy sweeps Hafeez expertly for his first four and then flicks another one over the wicketkeeper with customary inventiveness.

Loving the World Cup but can't help thinking the top 6 should have qualified. Top 2 straight to the semi-finals then 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5 for the right to face the top 2. This would have ensured all games remained worthwhile whilst giving the top 2 the chance to rest and recharge. Today, for example, would see Bangladesh fighting for a top 6 spot instead of just going through the motions.

Bit of an inside edge in that dismissal too. When he wants to crank it up though, Shaheen is up at 89mph. Doesn't look 19 though, he is a strapping fella with chiseled features. The diminutive Mushfiqur is the new batsman.

It deceived him completely. He was through with his shot and the ball did not arrive.

Got him with the slowie. Cleverly bowled by the teenager and only one fifty in the tournament for Tamim, who finishes with a disappointing average of 29.

Let's have a look at this fine catch from The Fiz in the Pakistan innings. A catch of the tournament competition would be keenly contested.

Now Shaheen Afridi, that's a fine quiff he has, like a young Tony Hadley, there's a contemporary reference for you, but he's still going isn't he? The 19-year-old left-arm seamer Shaheen took four wickets against Afghanistan and three against New Zealand and he concedes only two singles in his opening over.

So now on to "the game itself" I suppose.

Sense a bit of relief in the crowd among Pakistan supporters actually that those very faint hopes of reaching the semi-finals are now out of the equation and there's purely just a game to be won.

Bangladesh supporters similarly know there's a chance here to complete a famous run-chase in their first ODI at Lord's and finish above Pakistan at the same time.
