    Latham 12, Neesham 10

I don't reckon bowling short at Jimmy Neesham is very smart.

He's swivelled everything away with decent timing, Chris Woakes putting in a decent stop at deep square leg to stop the boundary.

Tom Latham continues to look scratchy, again playing and missing at one tailing in from round the wicket by Mark Wood.

Just one from that over by Wood.

The sarnies are being cracked open underneath the stands. One woman turns it away, though - “I’m too nervous to eat!”

I wonder whether it is worth Morgan turning to his first-choice bowlers now. Try and bowl New Zealand out.

The way Neesham plays is the way England play. It is a good sign that this pitch is OK.

I would be turning to Jofra Archer right now.

Shot! A poor ball from Ben Stokes, granted, but Jimmy Neesham fetches it from outside off and cracks it through wide long on for four more.

That's the 150 up for the Black Caps.

Stokes not on the money so far. Time for a couple of overs of Jofra Archer?

    Classic mockers, Zaltzman.

Jimmy Neesham flicks crisply off his pads through mid-wicket and not even Jonny Bairstow can slide in time to stop the four.

Strong Durham, strong England? Not that Durham are doing too well these days but their current and former players are starring for England here.

Can Ben Stokes join Liam Plunkett and Mark Wood in the wickets column?

England have a great opportunity. If they get two more wickets before the 40 overs mark they could bowl New Zealand out for around 200.

250 would be tricky. It is a pitch that needs a bit of smartness. That has been their downfall. Don't let New Zealand get there.

And Mark Wood completes a wicket maiden as Jimmy Neesham survives five deliveries, playing and missing at a peach from round the wicket.

Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls were out in the middle when they chose to review Guptill's lbw. If you make the wrong decision of whether to review it can cost a key player their wicket.

    The drama of DRS, eh?

Ball tracking shows that Ross Taylor lbw delivery was going just over the stumps.

Not a shocking decision from umpire Marais Erasmus at all, looked fair in real time.

But it would've been overturned on review.

    Here comes Jimmy Neesham.

He's a fascinating and funny man - as you can read here.

Can he help his side post a challenging total in a World Cup final?

That is quick from Mark Wood. Taylor played across the line.

    Taylor lbw b Wood 15 (NZ 141-4)

    Mark Wood joins the party!

It's skiddy and quick from the Durham man, Ross Taylor missing it as he tried to work the ball into the leg side.

The ball strikes the pad. Massive appeal and umpire Marais Erasmus raises the finger after a lengthy deliberation.

New Zealand have no reviews left after Martin Guptill sent a plumb lbw upstairs earlier so Taylor just has to keep jogging off the pitch.

At times the pitch has looked fine and at times very tricky. The shots we have seen England play so fluently on the up against Australia, those shots have looked very difficult.

  18. NZ 141-3published at 33 overs

    Taylor 15, Latham 11

Ben Stokes draws a thick outside edge off Tom Latham's bat and the ball flies through the vacant gully region. Would've been a dolly if a fielder had been there.

Ross Taylor then misses with a flaying drive at a wide ball that is called wide. Harsh that - the ball seemed to fly over the line that is meant to guide the umpires and missed the shoulder of Taylor's bat.

It has been an hour since New Zealand last hit a boundary.

Jofra Archer runs off the pitch - a quick comfort break before he's back on?

  19. Postpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

Ben Stokes is having some problems with the foot holes bowling round the wicket to Tom Latham so sends Jofra Archer off to grab a couple of huge handfuls of sawdust.

He can do everything that kid.

Tidy stuff again from Rashid, just four from the over.
