Notts 263 v Somerset 36-3
Luke Fletcher into the attack - and he strikes straight away!
It's down the leg side and James Hildreth nudges it through to the keeper. Not a classic dismissal but a very welcome one for Notts even so.
Somerset are in deep trouble.
Tough to keep up here. Tom Abell and George Bartlett are batting now.
Yorkshire 280-2 v Hampshire
Well, Joe Root is edging towards that particular milestone Alex Winter mentions.
He moves to 92 off 180 balls. Gary Ballance now on 106 not out at the other end.
Glamorgan 355-4 v Northamptonshire
Alex Winter
BBC Radio Northampton sport
Glamorgan fared even worse than Northamptonshire in the County Championship last summer, but like Northants on the opening day last week, they have enjoyed a dream first day to their 2019 season.
Billy Root, brother of England Test captain Joe, made the switch from Nottingham to Cardiff over the winter and he's opened his account for his new county in perfect fashion with a punchy innings - just his second County Championship century and first since 2017.
With Joe going well at the Ageas Bowl, when was the last time brothers made centuries on the same day in the County Championship?
Notts 263 v Somerset 36-2
Got him!
Stuart Broad bowls a superb line on off stump. Marcus Trescothick drives on the up and edges to the keeper.
Great session for Notts and plenty of time before stumps tonight.
Gloucs v Derbys 209-5
Bob Hunt
BBC Radio Gloucestershire
A sophorific period of play in the afternoon at Bristol as the Gloucestershire bowlers take the new ball.
Matt Critchley and Harvey Hosein are finding batting difficult in the sun. They’ve put on 33 for the sixth wicket but it’s taken a long time on a typical placid Bristol pitch.
Notts 263 v Somerset 34-1
The runs aren't exactly flowing, but this is a tricky session of play for both teams and Somerset will be more than happy to bat out the session at a rate of two or three an over.
Jake Ball won't get away with a long hop though and James Hildreth swats the ball through mid wicket for four.
14 overs left tonight.
Durham 170-5 v Sussex
Martin Emmerson
BBC Newcastle
I can't remember many days as quiet as this one when it comes to runs scored but Durham have eventually made their way to 150.
Liam Trevaskis and Ned Eckersley (pictured above) have put the first 50 partnership of the day on the board and have tried to give Durham some momentum.
The hosts added 56 runs in the morning for the loss of two wickets, while the period up to tea saw them score 57-3. Ollie Robinson has been the pick of the bowlers with 3-33 from 18 overs.
The ground staff say the lack of heat is affecting the wicket. There was a frost across the ground first thing today and although we have had bright sunshine all day it has been chilly too.
The new ball is now due in one over.
Middx 206-7 v Lancs
Middlesex are being undone by the new ball here.
Another delivery from Jimmy Anderson angled across and moving away. Max Holden fences to third slip... Rob Jones parries the ball and clings on.

Surrey 300-4 v Essex
Essex call for the new ball as Jamie Porter returns with Peter Siddle at the other end.
They need some sort of magic from the Aussie-English pairing to break this very impressive 119-run partnership between Ryan Patel and Will Jacks.
Surrey now with three batting bonus points.
Warwks v Kent 301-4
A slice of luck for the batsman, who drives hard at Craig Miles and edges over the slips for four. That's 49 runs for him.
Four more! That's 50 off 73 balls with nine fours.
That's also the third batting point for Kent.
Yorkshire 270-2 v Hampshire
And Gary Ballance wins that race to a century ahead of Joe Root as he clips three off his hip from Gareth Berg to move to 102 off 214 balls.
He's looked rarely troubled throughout with 10 fours and that's his fourth century, including a double ton, in his last three appearances at the Ageas Bowl.
Warwks v Kent 293-4
Heino Kuhn has taken a liking to the bowling of Will Rhodes and hits him for a brace of fours to move on to 42.
He takes three more singles off the last ball of the over and keeps the strike.
Middx 206-6 v Lancs
Six down at Lord's.
Not much turn in evidence from Glenn Maxwell, but well flighted, dipping late and John Simpson can't keep it out.
Not for the first time this summer, Middlesex need big runs from the tail to stay in the game.
Here's the latest at Grace Road, Bristol and Cardiff:
Daryl Mitchell scored 114 for Worcestershire against Leicestershire and the visitors now have 286-3 - with Hamish Rutherford on 90 not out.
Gloucestershire are at home to Derbyshire - where the visitors are 209-5, with two wickets apiece for Matt Taylor and Ryan Higgins.
Glamorgan are well on top at home to Northants on 323-4.
Marnus Labuschagne made 121 and Billy Root, brother of Joe, is unbeaten on 85.
Notts 263 v Somerset 19-1
Stuart Broad bowls full and gets one to seam into Azhar Ali, rapping him on the pad right in front of the stumps.
The umpire raises his finger...
James Hildreth, one of the standout batsmen of the championship last summer, joins Trescothick in the middle.

Notts 263 v Somerset 18-0
Azhar Ali jabs down on a full ball from Jake Ball just outside off stump and the ball is nudged away to the third man boundry for four.
Frustrating times for Notts.
Yorkshire 253-2 v Hampshire
A second batting bonus point in the bag for Yorkshire as both Gary Ballance (89 not out) and Joe Root (82 not out) move into the 80s.
Who's going to win the race to a ton?
Middx 199-5 v Lancs
Eoin Morgan cuts Josh Bohannon outside the off stump and the ball is pouched by Rob Jones in the gully.
He leans on his bat in disappointment before leaving the field.
The new ball is available in three overs.
John Simpson's turn to bat.
