A very well-compiled 117 at Lord's against Middlesex has helped edge his side ahead.

The runs are flowing for both sides in Cardiff as Northants reply to the Glamorgan innings of 570-8 dec with 211-0.

Gloucestershire have reached stumps on day two on 202-5 against Derbyshire at Bristol and trail by 89.

Worcestershire have had the better of it so far at Grace Road, where Leicestershire are 175-4 with Ateeq Javid and nightwatchman Chris Wright at the crease.

They trail by 378.

All done for the day after they came off for bad light about an hour or so ago.

Essex will resume in the morning still 193 runs behind and Dan Lawrence will be on 87.

Light still pretty poor towards the close of the day at the Ageas Bowl so Joe Root is brought on for a bit of spin from one end to get a few more overs in.
