    Hampshire 50-2 v Yorkshire 554-7 dec

The lights are on at the Ageas Bowl, the umpires have taken a reading with their metres, but we carry on for now.

Hampshire have reached 50-2 as Sam Northeast (13 not out) and Aiden Markram (28 not out) stand firm.

Still plenty of recovery work to do for the hosts.

  2. Notts begin their second inningspublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Notts 263 & 0-0 v Somerset 403

12 overs left in the day's play - conditions permitting.

A more than handy lead of 140 for Somerset but Notts won't dwell on that for now.

This passage of play is all about survival.

The Bens - Slater and Duckett, to open the innings.

    Lewis Gregory to bowl.

    He's had a quiet game, hasn't he?

It's all ended in rather a hurry.

Stuart Broad has done it again and he wraps up the innings by castling Jack Leach.

That's given him figures of 5-73. Still advantage Somerset but Broad has kept the hosts in the game.

  5. wicket

WICKET Steel lbw b Robinson 0published at 17:35 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Durham 224 & 0-1 v Sussex 202 - Durham lead by 22 runs

Durham are back out there for the start of their second innings as the shadows lengthen across the outfield.

Terrible start though as Cameron Steel is trapped leg before by Ollie Robinson just five balls in.

  6. wicket

WICKET Gregory c Duckett b Broad 50published at 17:33 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Notts 263 v Somerset 400-9

Two wickets in two balls for Stuart Broad!

He gets some revenge on Lewis Gregory and a fine attacking innings comes to an end.

He edges to Duckett at first slip.

The Jacks are at the crease. Leach and Brooks.

  7. wicket

WICKET Davey c sub b Broad 25published at 17:31 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Notts 263 v Somerset 400-8

The sub is that man Leverock as Stuart Broad prizes out Josh Davey via a top edge top fine leg.

  8. Gloomy skies at the Bowlpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Hampshire 28-2 v Yorkshire 554-7 dec

Also getting a bit darker at the Ageas Bowl, but they're not coming off just yet.

Sam Northeast and Aiden Markram trying to dig in and show some resistance for Hampshire after the early loss of both openers.

Still another 13 overs to bowl before stumps in theory.

  9. Light metres out!published at 17:27 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Surrey 395 v Essex 202-4

Umpires Nick Cook and Richard Kettleborough are out in the middle at The Oval taking a light reading.

They don't look like they're that keen on an immediate resumption as there's a thin matt on the wicket and they're not in their white coats.

  10. wicket

WICKET Hameed c&b Malan 117published at 17:27 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Middx 265 v Lancs 231-4

It's all over - but a fine innings from Haseeb Hameed as he pushes at a ball from Dawid Malan, who takes the catch off his own bowling.

Dane Vilas is the new batsman.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Lewis Gregorypublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Notts 263 v Somerset 403-7

    GregoryImage source, Getty Images

He's already made a telling contribution with six wickets in the Notts innings yesterday.

He drives Luke Wood through the off side off the back foot for his 50, his sixth at this level.

47 balls, four fours and three sixes.

A Davey pull off a short ball yields four more - and there's the Somerset 400.

  12. Somerset edge closer to 400published at 17:22 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Notts 263 v Somerset 394-7 - lead by 131

Stuart Broad is fuming after that Gregory onslaught and fires in some short balls to Josh Davey, one of which he swipes away with a cross-batted shot for four.

The fifth ball of the over compels him to back away and Davey ends up on his backside.

Next there's a no-ball and a missed leg glance off a wide one ends the over. Phew!

  13. Sussex all out!published at 17:22 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Durham 224 v Sussex 202

    Bowled him and all out!

Chris Rushworth once again sends a stump cartwheeling into the distance as he cleans up Mir Hamza's off pole.

It means Luke Wells is left stranded two short of his century and Sussex will concede a first-innings deficit of 22 runs as they are dismissed for 202.

Rushworth finishes with figures of 4-41 for the hosts.

  14. 200 up for Sussexpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Durham 224 v Sussex 200-9

Sussex are still frustrating Durham's bowlers by hanging in there for their 10th wicket.

Luke Wells has now moved to 97 with Mir Hamza on a very watchful 7 at the other end.

200 up as well for them and a first batting point.

  15. 6 runs

Gregory on the warpathpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Notts 263 v Somerset 384-7

It's a hard hat area in Trent Bridge as Lewis Gregory belts Stuart Broad for successive sixes and Somerset hurtle towards maximum batting points.

He takes a couple of twos off Jake Ball in the next over to move to 49.

  16. Bad light stops play at The Ovalpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Surrey 395 v Essex 202-4

It's got gloomy all of a sudden south of the Thames and the umpires have decided to take the players off for bad light.

Essex's Dan Lawrence tucks his bat under his arm and trudges off 13 shy of a century.

Unsure how long we might be off for here.

  17. Elsewhere in Division Two...published at 17:08 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

Here's the latest at Grace Road, Bristol and Cardiff:

Northants are away to Glamorgan and have reached 148-0 but remain a long way behind, trailing by 422.

Vasconcelos is on 85 and Rob Newton has 51.

Gareth Roderick and Benny Howell are at the crease for Gloucestershire and the home side have reached 150-4 against Derbyshire.

    The hosts trail by 141.

Leicestershire have recovered to 134-2 after losing Paul Horton and Hasan Azad with just 24 runs on the board but Worcestershire still lead by 419.

  18. wicket

WICKET Weatherley c Tattersall b Olivier 2published at 17:02 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Hampshire 11-2 v Yorkshire 554-7 dec

Hampshire in all sorts of bother as they lose both openers now.

Joe Weatherley is Duanne Olivier's first victim of the innings as he fine edges through to wicketkeeper Jonny Tattersall.

Sam Northeast and Aiden Markram now together at the crease, both on nought.

  19. Wells uses his two livespublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Durham 224 v Sussex 195-9

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

    Luke WellsImage source, Getty Images

Arrange these words: Sussex, hook, the, off and wriggled.

Durham must be kicking themselves now as Luke Wells looks set for his fifth championship century against them and his third in Chester-le-Street.

But he should have been gone long ago, as should Sussex. They were in disarray when Ben Raine should have run him out for eight, but he missed the target from 10 yards with the batsman marooned.

He was then dropped in the slips, while still on eight. But at tea, he has dragged his side from the abyss and now sits on 92 runs.

There's every reason to think he will reach three figures again because he's looked in little trouble in the afternoon session and although last man Mir Hamza only has seven he has looked quite calm in the middle too.

Durham had Derbyshire at 68-5 on day one in Derby last Friday and lost the match. Today Sussex were 71-7 and then 159-9.

  20. Notts press for wickets at Trent Bridgepublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Notts 263 v Somerset 359-7 - lead by 96

Frustration for Notts as Lewis Gregory is squared up by Fletcher and edges through the vacant gully for four.

    That takes him to 29.

A Fletcher bouncer is pulled to long leg for a single.

Josh Davey nudges the last ball to long leg for one.
