We're under way for the afternoon at the Ageas Bowl where Liam Dawson (27 not out) and Sam Northeast (72 not out) are back at the crease for Hampshire.

They brought up a 50 partnership just before lunch but know it's all about crease occupation in the first instance as they try to stave off the Yorkshire attack.

    Warwks 224-4 v Kent 504-9 - trail by 280

Still a big gap to make up, but Dominic Sibley has carried on his sparkling late season form of 2018 into this summer and given the hosts a fighting chance of saving the follow-on.

He resumes on 106 with Tim Ambrose, who has 38.

    Darren Stevens will bowl.

Jack Leach moved Somerset closer to victory on the third morning of their Specsavers County Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

Leach took all three wickets to fall in the session, to leave the home county on 88 for five at lunch, still trailing by 52 runs.

Called upon for the first time in the match, Leach needed only six deliveries before striking.

Slater, shortly after the 50 partnership had been brought up, was tempted to push forward and was smartly stumped by Steven Davies for 34.

The England international then bagged another wicket a couple of overs later, turning the ball sharply to bowl Joe Clarke for two.

Leach extended his figures to three for eight with the scalp of Fletcher, who faced 78 deliveries for his 21, before hoisting the ball out to Craig Overton at cover.

    Durham 224 & 112-7 v Sussex 202 - lunch

    Adrian Harms
    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

On a bitterly cold day in the north east, Sussex turned this game on its head by taking three wickets for one run in seven balls before lunch.

David Wiese has been the pick of the attack, claiming three of the wickets to fall, but in truth all the Sussex bowlers have stuck to an excellent line and length

Ned Eckersley will be disappointed that his poor shot, pulling a long hop from Tom Haines started the collapse, and skipper Cameron Bancroft also played a poor shot chasing a wide delivery from Mir Hamza

Sussex are in the box seat at lunch, but their first innings batting performance Luke Wells excluded, will give Durham some hope.

A slightly belated lunch at The Oval and it's very much been Essex's morning despite the loss of Dan Lawrence for 93.

Skipper Ryan ten Doeschate has played superbly to reach 105 not out, with debutant Robbie White on 34 at the other end, and Essex have the realistic prospect of first innings lead.

Rikki Clarke claimed the only wicket to fall when he had Dan Lawrence caught at slip with his second delivery of the day.

    Dom SibleyImage source, Rex Features

A session of satisfactory progress for Warwickshire towards the relative security of the 355 required to deny Kent the possibility of asking them to follow-on - the most direct route to a victory for the visitors on a pitch that the batsmen can still trust after seven sessions.

Dom Sibley is once again in charge for the Bears, and Tim Ambrose has offered steadfast support, save for one early nibble to the slips, which was not held.

Sibley was perturbed only in the last few moments before reaching 100 for the fifth time in as many first-class matches, a run that began last September. His joy at achieving that was clear, but his team-mates may want him to add a fair few more before they start to feel the danger in this match recede.

  11. Gloucestershire poised for leadpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Derbyshire 291 v Gloucestershire 290-6 - lunch

    Dave Fletcher
    BBC Radio Derby Sport

Ryan Higgins and Gareth Roderick both reached half-centuries as Gloucestershire moved to within a run of Derbyshire’s first innings total of 291 by lunch on day three at Bristol.

Higgins got there with his eighth four and Roderick with his seventh as they put on 118 for the fifth wicket.

Their partnership was ended by Luis Reece who claimed his third wicket of the inning when he bowled Higgins for 74. At lunch, Roderick had moved on to 73 and Graeme van Buuren was seven not out.

for Ryan ten Doeschatepublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Surrey 395 v Essex 323-5

Brilliant batting by Ryan ten Doeschate, who goes to a 114-ball single with a single after a square cut and straight drive bring him fours earlier in the over from Morne Morkel.

It's the 28th first-class hundred of his career and he has a six and 18 fours to his credit so far, adding 78 with Robbie White, who is playing the supporting role to something like perfection for his 34 not out.

  13. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Notts 263 & 88-5 v Somerset 403-9 - trail by 52

Samit Patel plays out a maiden, bowled by the danger man Jack Leach and Notts go to lunch in big trouble, still more than 50 in arrears with half the side out.

Can they keep Leach at bay this afternoon?

  14. End of morning session at Edgbastonpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Warwks 224-4 v Kent 504-9 dec - trail by 280

Daniel Bell-Drummond bowls to Tim Ambrose who leave outside the off.

Bit of away swing there. The next ball is a bit of an effort ball but it drifts into the pads and Ambrose glances it away for four.

Another four to Ambrose through long leg and that's lunch.

A decent session for Warwickshire, with just one wicket lost in the session.

130 still needed to avoid the follow-on.

    Sam NortheastImage source, Rex Features

Sam Northeast is holding the Hampshire top order together as they seek to bat long and try and save the game.

There was a typical cameo from Rilee Rossouw (33 off 44 balls), but in this situation Hampshire need long individual innings as typified by the former Kent man.

Yorkshire have bowled accurately, with Duanne Olivier is testing the batsmen's capability of playing the pull and hook shots. But he, like other seamers, are finding the pace in this pitch almost zero.

  16. Notts five down as Leach strikes againpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Notts 263 & 86-5 v Somerset 403 - trail by 54

Mullaney drives Overton crisply through the covers for a single off Overton.

The last ball is a bit short and Samit Patel pulls to square leg for one. Over.

The trial by spin resumes. Ooh! Patel edges but just short of Tom Abell. He survives.

  17. Plunkett into attackpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Surrey 395 v Essex 301-5

Surrey give Liam Plunkett a short burst before the lunch interval and Ryan ten Doeschate drives through point for four as he moves into the 80s.

Three runs to Robbie White in the next over, bowled by Freddie van den Bergh, earn Essex a third batting point as their score moves past 300.

  18. Sibley's prolific run continuespublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Kent 504-9 dec v Warwickshire 214-4

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

A notable milestone for the Warwickshire opener Dom Sibley - not only reaching his century with a classy straight-drive off Mitch Claydon, but with it registering a hundred for the fifth first-class match in a row.

He reached three figures against Leicestershire, Sussex and Kent last September, and added another for the MCC in the Champion County game last month, and now a fifth - in seven innings - here.

How Warwickshire need him. Even as he got to his hundred, his team were still 157 short of avoiding the possibility of following-on after a morning of cautious progress.
