    Warwks 202-3 v Kent 504-9 dec - trail by 303

Hello! Daniel Bell-Drummond is going to have a bowl.

The line is straight enough but slightly back of a length, so Ambrose is back on his toes driving through the off side for a couple - and there's the Warwickshire 200.

Another single off the fifth ball and Sibley sees out the over.

  2. In Division Two...published at 12:39 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

Ateeq Javid's patient innings for Leicestershire has come to an end on 69 after he was caught off Wayne Parnell. They are 252-7 and trail Worcesterhire by 301.

Gloucestershire's Ryan Higgins has been bowled by Luis Reece for 74, ending a 118-run stand with Gareth Roderick against Derbyshire. The home side are 275-6, just 16 runs behind.

There is still no resumption at Lord's where rain interrupted Lancashire's first innings against Middlesex, but Northants have advanced to 325-1 against Glamorgan, with Ricardo Vasconcelos now 169 not out.

Gareth Harte and Ned Eckersley are trying to stabilise Durham's second innings against Sussex, following the loss of Cameron Bancroft and Jack Burnham. They are 91-4, 113 ahead.

  3. Notts in trouble after Leach strikespublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Notts 263 & 77-4 v Somerset 403 - trail by 63

A good start for Steven Mullaney, who gets right to the pitch of the ball and drives Jack leach through the covers for four.

Big stand needed here between him and nightwatchman Luke Fletcher.

  4. 100 runs

100 for Dominic Sibleypublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Dom SibleyImage source, Rex Features

A timely knock for Dominic Sibley, who is leading his side to safety.

He drives through the offside for his 11th four - and that's 100. He's notched up five in successive first-class matches, you know.

233 balls in the knock to date.

  5. 6 runs

Back in action at The Ovalpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Surrey 395 v Essex 271-5

Only a short delay at The Oval where the players are back out in the middle.

There are two balls to go in the Freddie van den Bergh over which was interrupted by rain and Ryan ten Doeschate comes down the track to the second and lofts the ball over long-on for a maximum.

He now has 72 and Robbie White is 11 not out.

  6. wicket

WICKET Clarke b Leach 2published at 12:27 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Notts 263 & 72-4 v Somerset 403 - trail by 68

Jack Leach has done it again!

Beautiful delivery, drifting in, dipping late and turning past the bat and ripping out the off stump.

Joe Clarke comprehensively bamboozled and Notts in trouble.

  7. Wicket relief for Glamorganpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northamptonshire 309-1

    Alex Winter
    BBC Radio Northampton sport

There have been well-documented instructions to redress the balance between bat and ball this season - smaller seam on the ball, heavy roller reintroduced, closer scrutiny of the pitch by the Cricket Liaison Officers - but it seems all three factors have contributed to the balance tipping too far towards the batsman here in Cardiff.

Ricardo Vasconcelos has taken full advantage to move past his career-best this morning- but not without alarm. A hesitant single almost saw him run out and it seemed to affect his concentration because he then lofted Manus Labuschange's leg-spin high in the air and should have been taken by mid-on.

Glamorgan at last found a breakthrough with the new ball as Rob Newton was taken at the wicket shortly after going to his 15th first-class hundred, ending a marathon triple-century opening stand.

  8. wicket

    Yorkshire 554-7 dec v Hampshire 138-5

    Rilee RossouwImage source, Rex Features

As the saying goes, those who live by the sword, shall die by the sword.

Rilee Rossouw attempts to mow a ball from Matthew Waite away through the leg-side and only succeeds in dragging the ball into his own stumps.

He goes for 33, and entertaining knock though it was, you do feel that perhaps a little circumspection would have served his side better. Sam Northeast is 50 not out and Liam Dawson comes out to join him.

  9. wicket

WICKET Slater st Davies b Leach 34published at 12:19 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Notts 263 & 66-3 v Somerset 403 - trail by 74

    Big breakthrough!

Somerset spinner Jack Leach draws Ben Slater into a loose drive outside off...

He misses - and a very tidy stumping by the keeper.

The new man is Joe Clarke.

  10. Game 'nicely balanced' at Ovalpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Surrey 395 v Essex 265-5

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Bad light has intervened here after an entertaining first hour during which Ryan ten Doeschate has kept Essex in contention with an enterprising unbeaten 66.

He moved from 39 to 56 in the space of seven deliveries, benefiting from a helping of four overthrows before taking three offside boundaries off Tom Curran's next over.

Dan Lawrence was not to make another hundred at the ground where he first came to prominence. He had little of the strike before being drawn into playing at Rikki Clarke's second delivery which he steered to first slip.

Surrey will be hopeful of working their way through the Essex tail and the game is nicely balanced.

  11. 50 runs

for Sam Northeastpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Yorkshire 554-7 dec v Hampshire 137-4

Easy as you like, Sam Northeast helps himself to a single to mid-wicket at the start of a new Matthew Waite and reaches a 99-ball half-century. A fine way to follow his 169 in last week's innings win over Essex.

It also brings up a fifty stand with Rilee Rossouw, who has 33 from 41 balls so far. He's calmed down a bit, perhaps.

  12. wicket

WICKET Newton c Cooke b van der Gugten 105published at 12:13 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northants 303-1 - trail by 267

A mammoth Northants first wicket stand is ended by Timm van der Gugten, who draws Rob Newton into a checked prod which he edges through to the keeper.

Not quite a club record - that goes to Rob White and Mark Powell, who put non 375 for Northants against Gloucestershire at Wantage Road in 2002 - but a gargantuan stand nonetheless.

  13. Sibley rearguard at Edgbastonpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Warwks 176-4 v Kent 504-9 dec - trail by 328

Sibley follows a ball outside off stump from Podmore but the ball evades the edge.

    And breathe.

    He sees out the over.

  14. In Division Two..published at 12:07 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

Rain stopped play at Lord's but still four games in progress:

Northants continue to pile on the runs at Cardiff and will need to continue to do so after their Glamorgan hosts racked up 570-8 declared.

The visitors are 299-0 with Ricardo Vasconcelos on 165 and Rob Newton on 103.

We could be in for a close contest at Bristol, where Gloucestershire are 244-5 against Derbyshire.

    They trail by 47.

Leicestershire are struggling a little at home to Worcestershire, where they're 225-6 and trailing by 328.

Durham are 70-3 in their second innings against Sussex at Chester-le-Street. They lead by 92.

  15. rain stops play

Players off at the Ovalpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Surrey 395 v Essex 265-5

The rain which began north of the Thames finds its way to Kennington and forces the players off the field mid-way through an over from Surrey spinner Freddie van den Bergh.

Essex skipper Ryan ten Doeschate is 66 not out and Robbie White has 11, following an unconvincing sweep for four in van den Bergh's previous over, which came off his gloves and could have resulted in a catch.

  16. 100 runs

100 for Rob Newtonpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northants 295-0 - trail by 275

After a fallow year in the Championship last year, when he didn't get past 46, this is his 15th first class ton - coming in 236 balls with his eighth four, a neat clip through mid-wicket off Timm van der Gugten.

  17. Rare maiden to Rossouwpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Yorkshire 554-7 dec v Hampshire 129-4

Yorkshire skipper Steven Patterson sends down a maiden to Rilee Rossouw, which is no mean feat.

It looks like another is on the cards after five dot balls from Matthew Waite to Sam Northeast, but the sixth is easy pickings for the Hampshire batsman, who helps a leg-side delivery down to fine leg for four.

He now has 46 and Rossouw is 28 not out.

  18. Sibley and Ambrose resistpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Warwks 168-4 v Kent 503-9 dec - trail by 336

Harry Podmore is in the attack and Tim Ambrose gets a single to extra cover.

Sibley well forward to block out the rest of the over.

  19. rain stops play

    Middlesex 265 v Lancashire 298-4

Lord's Cricket GroundImage source, Rex Features

Disappointment at Lord's where rain arrives with Lancashire having added 31 to their overnight 267-4 without further loss. Rob Jones is 60 not out and Dane Vilas has 41 - together they have added 67 so far.

  20. 150 runs

150 for Ricardo Vasconcelospublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Glamorgan 570-8 dec v Northants 280-0 - trail by 290

Ricardo Vasconcelos pulls Timm van der Gugten to square leg for his 19th four - and that's his 150!

His first ton at this level this summer and boy is he making it count.

250 balls with (19 fours) and a six.
