  1. Nickname for Danni Wyatt?published at 16:39 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

"I always thought her nickname should be Ipredicta" - BBC 5 Live Sports Extra Daniel Norcross

"She won't understand that one" - England seam bowler Kate Cross

  2. Vipers 99-1published at 10 overs

    Wyatt 60, Beaumont 9

Tammy Beaumont gets lucky - coming onto the ball too quickly and looping it into the air, but crucially not near a Western Storm fielder.

To rub salt into the wounds Beaumont puts away a four with the very next ball, a rare wayward delivery from Anya Shrubsole.

At the midway point of their innings Southern Vipers are 99-1 - big score incoming?

If she can keep her head, there's a KSL final hundred there for the taking.

  4. Vipers 93-1published at 9 overs

    Wyatt 59, Beaumont 4

Danni Wyatt gets hold of one and Fran Wilson can't quite stop it going for a one-bounce four - she found the gap well and looks almost invincible.

We say 'almost' because with the final ball of the over the Southern Vipers opener is a tad fortunate to claim another boundary after the Western Storm fielder can't decide whether to commit to the catch or hang back.

In the end, she did neither.

That's a fifth half-century in the Super League this year for Southern Vipers opener Danni Wyatt!

She reaches the milestone with a single off the first ball of the ninth over, with Tammy Beaumont still alongside her.

Can Wyatt convert it to a 100? She's managed it once already this season.

  6. Vipers 80-1published at 8 overs

    Wyatt 49, Beaumont 2

A loose ball down leg side from Western Storm skipper Heather Knight is duly dispatched by Danni Wyatt over long-off for four.

Wyatt is now just one run from her half-century, with Southern Vipers still motoring along.

Fun fact about Heather Knight - she's got webbed feet. She's a good swimmer.

  8. Vipers 71-1published at 7 overs

    Wyatt 41, Beaumont 1

Danni Wyatt has not been discouraged by the departure of her fellow opener, if anything it's the opposite.

Southern Vipers manage six runs from the remaining four balls of Sonia Odedra's over.

This partnership with Tammy Beaumont now becomes crucial for both sides as Heather Knight limbers up to bowl for Western Storm.

What a magnificent catch - very suitable for a final.

    Bates c&b Odedra 26 (Vipers 65-1)

    WHAT A CATCH SONIA ODEDRA!

The medium-fast Western Storm bowler is at full stretch to catch a loose Suzie Bates shot off her own ball, and dives to the floor while holding onto it.

Bates goes for 26 and Tammy Beaumont comes in.

  11. Vipers 62-0published at 6 overs

    Bates 26, Wyatt 35

Even the great Anya Shrubsole can't stem the flow of Southern Vipers runs!

They're 62-0 after the powerplay - that's the highest opening partnership against Western Storm in the competition this year.

Two boundaries from Suzie Bates does the damage in the sixth over - her compatriot Rachel Priest is chirping away from her wicketkeeper position but it's having little effect.

    Vipers 53-0published at 5 overs

    Bates 17, Wyatt 35

The 50 is up for Southern Vipers - already!

Freya Davies switches ends but it's the same story for Western Storm as Danni Wyatt first penetrates the field for a boundary before hitting through the ball for her second six of the innings.

Storm are struggling, which begs the question... why haven't we seen England's Anya Shrubsole bowl yet?

  13. Vipers 37-0published at 4 overs

    Bates 17, Wyatt 20

Western Storm keep square leg up and Suzie Bates is on hand to take advantage with a low, well-struck four.

Two balls later it's Danni Wyatt's turn, hitting through extra cover for another boundary against the spin.

Southern Vipers are scoring well in this powerplay just as they did in the semis.

  14. 6 runs

    Vipers 26-0published at 3 overs

    Bates 12, Wyatt 14

What a way for Danni Wyatt to move past 400 runs in this year's Super League, while also becoming the competition's leading run-scorer this season.

It's a gigantic six off the bowling of Claire Nicholas - Wyatt and Suzie Bates have picked up from where they left off in the semi-final earlier.

But we know Southern Vipers aren't as strong lower down the order, so Wyatt and Bates need to make the most of this start.

  15. Vipers openers 'want more'published at 16:10 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

    Isabelle Westbury
Cricket writer and ex-Middlesex captain on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra

Bates and Wyatt have had a good partnership (in the semi-final) and got their eye in, yet are still wanting more. I've got a feeling they haven't finished yet.

  16. Vipers 14-0published at 2 overs

    Bates 7, Wyatt 7

That's 10 off the second over for Southern Vipers - even more impressive given it's off the bowling of Freya Davies, the Super League's leading wicket-taker this year.

Danni Wyatt comfortably guides the ball away for the first boundary of the final, opening her bat and directing past backward point.

It's followed up by a straight drive from Suzie Bates that also goes for four. Great technique.

  17. Vipers 4-0published at 1 over

    Bates 2, Wyatt 2

Southern Vipers openers Suzie Bates and Danni Wyatt get a single off their first balls.

There's a big lbw shout against Bates with the third ball of Claire Nicholas' over, but it's rightly waved away.

All in all a decent first six balls for Western Storm, who've been sitting and watching for most of the day.

  18. Final under waypublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

    Western Storm v Southern Vipers

Suzie Bates and Danni Wyatt stride out for the Southern Vipers with the swagger you'd expect from a pair who have just struck their side to semi-final victory.

Claire Nicholas to bowl the first over for Western Storm.

Right... the build-up to the Super League final is ramping up, with soprano Laura Wright serenading the Hove crowd before the players come out.

Western Storm romped the group stages with nine wins from 10, with Southern Vipers a massive 17 points behind - but it'd be foolish of us to say this final is a foregone conclusion.

Western Storm v Southern Vipers (play starts 16:00)

    Smitri MandhanaImage source, Rex Features

Last summer, Smitri Mandhana was denied the chance to play for Western Storm on Finals Day after being summoned to a national team training camp by India.

She had scored 416 runs in the group stage, including a dazzling 102 off 61 balls against Lancashire Thunder.

This year hasn't been quite so successful on a personal level, with 268 runs in 10 innings, and a highest score of 72.

But Southern Vipers know she is one of the main threats to their chances of a second Super League triumph.
