  1. Vipers 114-4 (target 144)published at 14 overs

    Morris 5, Wellington 3

A strong over from Lightning's Georgia Elwiss, just four from it as Fi Morris and Amanda Wellington can only really find singles for now.

That'll be enough for Southern Vipers mind, who need just 30 from the last 36 deliveries.

But another wicket will get Loughborough into batters who haven't dealt with this Finals Day pressure much before...

  2. Vipers 110-4 (target 144)published at 13 overs

    Morris 3, Wellington 1

Amanda Wellington gets a single with the final ball to retain the strike for Southern Vipers.

They need 34 from 42 balls to reach the Super League final for the third time.

Loughborough skipper Georgia Elwiss to bowl the next 14th over.

  3. Gunn variation brings rewardpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

    Kate Cross
England seam bowler on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra

Looked like Jenny Gunn bowled a cross-seam delivery there and you get variable bounce with those. You can see how disappointed Tammy was. She knew how much pressure was on her to take this run-chase down to the wire.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.2 overs

    Beaumont b Gunn 24 (Vipers 109-4)

Tammy Beaumont plays onto her own stumps and that's a MASSIVE breakthrough for Loughborough Lightning!

The England batter is caught in two minds and Jenny Gunn has her first wicket - having seen Lucy Higham misfield a Beaumont shot for four with the previous ball.

Amanda Wellington is next in for Vipers, who still need 35 to win.

  5. Vipers 105-3 (target 144)published at 12 overs

    Beaumont 20, Morris 3

Georgia Elwiss nearly gets some success with the short ball, but Tammy Beaumont's lobbed shot falls comfortably short of the fielder.

Beaumont is very much taking the lead role here, with Fi Morris largely watching on.

Southern Vipers requiring 39 runs from the last eight overs at Hove.

  6. Watch: Bates & Wyatt fall in quick successionpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

Here's how Suzie Bates and Danni Wyatt fell in quick succession as Vipers slipped from 76-0 to 78-2.

  7. Vipers 101-3 (target 144)published at 11 overs

    Beaumont 18, Morris 1

After an understandably steady start Tammy Beaumont is starting to play her shots, hitting two boundaries in the 11th overs to take Southern Vipers past the 100 mark.

She can't hang around much longer if Loughborough Lightning want to pull of an unlikely win.

  8. Vipers lower order lacks experiencepublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

    Kate Cross
England seam bowler on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra

Normally as a fielder you know when you've run someone out. Suddenly Vipers need 53 off 59. It's just goes to show what a little bit of pressure and wickets can do. They're missing Stafanie Taylor in that middle order. There's a little bit of inexperience now.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.1 overs

Bouchier run out Elwiss 4 (Vipers 91-3)

Maia Bouchier is run out and Southern Vipers are three down.

The 20-year-old is inches short of her crease as Georgia Elwiss gets a direct hit.

Fi Morries joins Tammy Beaumont in the middle and Lightning still have some hope.

  10. Vipers 91-2 (target 144)published at 10 overs

    Beaumont 9, Bouchier 4

Tammy Beaumont cuts away her first boundary, with Loughborough captain Georgia Elwiss putting herself into the attack.

It's a tight-ish over, with six off it, but Southern Vipers are 30 clear of where their opponents were at the midway point of their innings.

  11. Vipers 85-2 (target 144)published at 9 overs

Southern Vipers need 59 runs from 66 balls, which you'd expect they'll manage - their bench seems calm, anyway.

Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier have slowed things down and they have the breathing room to lower the run rate and regain control.

Loughborough Lightning need the wicket of Beaumont, you feel.

  12. Vipers 81-2 (target 144)published at 8 overs

    Beaumont 2, Bouchier 1

Southern Vipers are pushing their luck here, all of a sudden.

With the final ball of the eighth over Tammy Beaumont scrambles to make a single and a direct hit almost sees her short, though replays show she made up the ground.

Loughborough Lightning have their tails up with these two new batters in.

  13. 'Bravery' costs Wyattpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

    Kate Cross
England seam bowler on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra

She was very brave to be batting outside her crease to a spinner with Amy Jones behind the stumps. If Loughborough can take another couple they'll be right back in this game. Wickets are key when you're trying to defend a total. Tammy Beaumont will be looking to start this innings again now.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.2 overs

Wyatt st Jones b Glenn 31 (Vipers 78-2)

Now do we have a game on our hands?

Danni Wyatt marauds forward to clobber a Sarah Glenn ball but misses, with wicketkeeper Amy Jones taking the ball and taking the bails off before she's able to get back into her crease.

Wyatt goes for an entertaining 31, with Vipers 78-2.

  15. Vipers 78-1 (target 144)published at 7 overs

    Wyatt 31, Beaumont 1

Tammy Beaumont gets herself off the mark as she joins England team-mate Danni Wyatt at the crease.

Vipers coach Charlotte Edwards still looks comfortable enough watching on, with her side needing 66 runs to win.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

    Bates b Gordon 37 (Vipers 76-1)

Loughborough have a first wicket at long last and it's a great ball by spinner Kirstie Gordon which grips and gets the better of Suzie Bates, going through her defences.

Bates goes for 37, having struck six fours and a six.

Vipers still well on top as Tammy Beaumont comes in.

  17. dropped catch

    Vipers 71-0 (target 144)published at 6 overs

    Bates 33, Wyatt 29

Oh no - Jenny Gunn drops Vipers batter Danni Wyatt on the boundary, succeeding only in diverting the ball towards the rope for four.

We've seen finesse from Suzie Bates but this time she shows her power, ripping away a pool shot to the boundary as Loughborough Lightning continue to toil.

Can this opening partnership be broken before it's too late?

  18. Lightning need breakthroughpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

    Isabelle Westbury
Cricket writer and ex-Middlesex captain on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra

The top three is packed with international power and experience. What do you do now as Loughborough Lightning captain? The Vipers are absolutely cantering.

  19. 6 runs

    Vipers 57-0 (target 144)published at 5 overs

    Bates 27, Wyatt 23

A wonderful display of ball-striking from Suzie Bates, showing great footwork to nonchalantly dispatch Sarah Glenn for another maximum, this time between mid-on and mid-off.

Both Bates and Danni Wyatt are firing on all cylinders - showing international class - and it's difficult to see how Loughborough are going to stop Southern Vipers at this rate.

    Misfields aren't helping their cause.
