For a split second it looks like lbw but that's a thin edge through to Adam Lyth in the slips.

  3. Somerset pegged back by Yorkshirepublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Somerset 44-3 v Yorks

The runs have dried to a trickle since James Hildreth got out.

That'll help. Tom Abell drives Olivier through the gully for four.

Still just seven runs in the last 25 balls though.

  4. Postpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Hants 26-3 v Surrey

Big appeal for a fourth wicket at the Ageas Bowl as James Vince lashes at a wide one from Jordan Clark. Ben Foakes takes it behind the stumps but there is nothing from the umpire and the 20th over is completed.

The first edge of the morning at Edgbaston but it falls between first and second slip and Dom Sibley collects another two runs, Sam Cook the unlucky bowler, as Warwickshire enjoy a profitable opening 20 overs.

    Notts v Kent 55-1

Shot! Jordan Cox drives Paul Coughlin down the ground to pick up four and move to 21.

    Alsop b Clarke 3 (Hants 21-3)

Hampshire in all sorts of trouble and 37-year-old Rikki Clarke, with his angled run, has 2-0 in his fourth over. Tom Alsop the man to go, bowled.

Skipper James Vince is the new batsman for the hosts.

  10. Sibley defies Essexpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Warwicks 52-0

Dom Sibley re-takes his guard after the drinks break at Edgbaston and punches the final ball of floppy-haired seamer Aaron Beard's opening over down the ground for his first boundary. Essex have the slip cordon packed but they have not been in business yet this morning in the opening 17 overs.

  11. wicket

WICKET Vijay c Tattersall b Olivier 7published at 11:40 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Somerset 31-2 v Yorks

Awkward start for Duanne Olivier, who delivers three no-balls in his first over.

That's much better! His third legal delivery rises and leaves Muarli Vijay and the batsman edges to the keeper.

    Over to you, James Hildreth.

  12. No success for Sussexpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Glos 39-0 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

A solid start from Gloucestershire who having been asked to bat have negotiated the opening hour without undue alarm.

With the lights on and cloud cover these looked ideal bowling conditions, but so far the Sussex bowlers haven't quite made the batsman play enough against the new ball

The sun is now out the lights off, and Gloucestershire will be the happier of the two sides.

  13. Kent rebuild after early wicketpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Notts v Kent 41-1

It's alternating between sunshine and autumnal gloom today at Trent Bridge.

Ravi Ashwin beats Bell-Drummond outside off stump with his first ball of the 15th over.

Remember, this is a must-win game for Notts who are bottom of the table with just 51 points in 11 matches - a full 42 points behind Warwickshire.

Paul Coughlin to bowl the 16th over.

Two wickets in quick succession for Surrey at the Ageas Bowl, first Ian Holland bowled and then Felix Organ with a wild swipe and taken at slip in the next over.

  15. Rhodes making hay at Edgbastonpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Warwicks 40-0

Big appeal for lbw at Edgbaston as Sam Cook traps Will Rhodes on the pad but not out is the verdict as Essex remain without a wicket after 14 overs, with Rhodes clipping his fourth boundary neatly through mid-wicket.

  16. Abell and Vijay at the crease for Somersetpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Somerset 29-1 v Yorkshire

Steven Patterson tries to tempt Tom Abell outside off. The batsman leaves.

Runs! Tom Abell picks up his first four through backward point, opening the face of the bat with deft touch.

Ouch! Patterson strays to leg and that's four byes. Frustration for the White Rose.

Tim Bresnan replaces Ben Coad at the River End.

Is Coad injured? He's off the field after bowling seven overs.

  19. 'Must win for Notts'published at 11:21 British Summer Time 10 September 2019

    Notts v Kent 32-1

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Kent are re-building at Trent Bridge after the early loss of Zak Crawley.

Daniel Bell-Drummond has dominated the strike, making 14 of the 17 so far added with Jordan Cox.

Luke Fletcher, who took the wicket, and Jake Ball, have bowled testing lines in the early stages in what is, for the home side, a must-win encounter.
