The fielder was trying to get back, but Lawrence just got enough on it.

  2. 'He's given his wicket away'published at 20:45 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Adam Wheater went on the reverse-sweep, which is always a dangerous shot. He gave his wicket away there.

It does bring the Essex engine room in though.

  3. Essex 49-2 (target 146)published at 8 overs

So, a successful over for Daryl Mitchell.

Worcestershire are probably on top now with Essex needing 97 from 72 balls. Batting ain't that easy as Dan Lawrence joins Tom Westley in the middle.

    Through him!

Daryl Mitchell, the sixth bowler the Rapids have used so far, makes the breakthrough.

Adam Wheater sweeps him for four, but then tries the reverse. He misses, Daryl hits.

  5. Essex 41-1 (target 146)published at 7 overs

It's one over and you're done at the moment.

Leg-spinner Brett D'Oliveira replaces Pat Brown and he's just as effective at keeping the runs down.

Five from the over, including a good bit of fielding on the boundary by Ross Whiteley to close it out.

105 more needed from 78 balls.

  6. 'Worcs not giving Essex too much to hit'published at 20:40 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Essex 36-1 (target 146)

    Tymal Mills
Sussex bowler on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Some good bowling so far from Worcestershire, they're not giving Essex too much to hit away to the boundary.

Essex have been good at pouncing onto those opportunities but Worcestershire won't be too displeased.

  7. Essex 36-1 (target 146)published at 6 overs

Ed Barnard is the fifth bowler used by Worcestershire inside the opening six overs.

It's another tight one, apart from a streaky edge from Tom Westley that goes for four.

That's the Powerplay done. Essex need another 110 off 84 deliveries. Tough ask.

Duckworth-Lewis par score at this stage is 37. It kind of gives us an indication that the Rapids are doing well.

  9. Essex 30-1 (target 146)published at 5 overs

Batting has been tough in this final, but Tom Westley is beginning to look in good touch.

The Essex opener takes a couple of steps down the track and flays Charlie Morris through the covers. It was aerial but safe.

Westley and Adam Wheater steal a two and a few singles and 10 come from the over. That relieves a bit of pressure.

  10. Essex 20-1 (target 146)published at 4 overs

Pat Brown mixes up his pace, as he does, and Essex's batsman struggle to get anything on the ball, let alone find the boundary.

Adam Wheater swings and misses the fourth ball of the over and it brushes past the stumps. So close.

    Just the four off it.

  11. Essex 16-1 (target 146)published at 3 overs

A wicket-taking over first up for Wayne Parnell.

Adam Wheater is the new batsman for Essex and gets off the mark first ball.

Pat Brown will take the fourth...

    Essex 9-1 (target 146)

We've got a game on our hands here!

Wayne Parnell comes into the attack and it's a filthy full toss second up.

But Cameron Delport lifts it straight to Riki Wessels at deep mid-wicket. Big, big wicket for the defending champions.

Adam Williams: How big could those 17 extras be considering Worcestershire conceded none in the semi-final?

  14. Essex 8-0 (target 146)published at 2 overs

Worcestershire Rapids will take that start.

Despite the four from Tom Westley, Charlie Morris concedes just seven off the over.

This could be another close one folks!

  15. Essex 5-0 (target 146)published at 1.2 overs

Charlie Morris shares the new ball with Moeen but Tom Westley likes a bit of pace on the ball.

He biffs the seamer past mid on for Essex's first four.

  16. 'Essex mustn't panic'published at 20:19 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Essex 1-0 (target 146)

    Paul Newton
    BBC Essex sport

It's important that Essex don't panic. It was a smart move from Moeen Ali to bowl himself in the first over.

And Essex don't want it to be an even smarter move by throwing away their wicket.

  17. 'A decent score posted by Worcs'published at 20:18 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Essex 1-0 (target 146)

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I thought there would be much more of a shift talking about the dew factor, touching the grass it's a little bit cooler with no moisture.

It could be a really good game, that is a decent score posted by Worcestershire on a turning wicket, it could be a fight out against the spinners.

  18. Essex 1-0 (target 146)published at 1 over

That's a super start from Rapids captain Moeen Ali.

The spinner concedes just a single off his first over.
