It is a question of two very fragile batting line-ups. England have to wrap this up tomorrow, and then they have to bat, under pressure. We've seen many teams falter in that situation The bowling quality is good and there is something in the pitch. I wouldn't put money on either side batting a day.
Maharaj c Sibley b Anderson 4 (SA 215-8)
England take another with them to the close. Keshav Maharaj is trapped on the crease, inside edging on to his pads, with the ball looping for Dom Sibley to come in from the slips and take the grab.
England could not have wished for a better day. They end it on top in this Test match.

Last over of the day. Jimmy Anderson with the ball. It's been a cracker.

Daniel: Proves it time and time again, Ben Stokes is an unbelievable fielder!

Broad is still charging in, generating pace that a man of his age has no real right to find. A spitter has Maharaj jack-knifing backwards, that outside edge once again in peril. Broad takes his floppy hat with figures of 2-36 from 16. He's been excellent.

Does this mean we have mistaken the pitch? Yesterday there was doom and gloom that England failed to post 400.
The shadows are lengthening, but the Barmies remain in great voice. They are telling the home fans that their singing has subsided. Vernon Philander gives Proteas supporters something to cheer about when he pushes Anderson through the covers for three. We might still have a level gave after one innings apiece. Two overs left in the day.

Broad has been superb today. When England needed something to happen in the morning session, it was Broad who delivered, hitting the crack that runs down the right-hander's off stump when the bowling is from the Wynberg End. He returns with a similar threat, endangering the outside edge of Keshav Maharaj's bat.

That just sums cricket up - Stokes has taken a worldie and dropped the easier one.
Can you still get Jolly Ranchers? Here's Stuart Broad. If the slips get any closer, they'll be at silly point.

That is the 24th time an England fielder has taken four catches in an innings. No player has ever taken five.
Anderson 15-6-29-2
You just can't keep Ben Stokes out of the game, can you? Probably England's best batsman at the moment, bowls rockets and catches flies.
Keshav Maharaj is the new man. There are four overs left in the day. How many more might England get?

What a catch! He's showing off. That is an outstanding catch - awesome. That is coming at some pace because he is so close.

This has given England a real opening here. Let's see if England can whip out the remaining wickets tonight.
