That Jason Roy six in the first over traveled 94m. He hardly seemed to hit it.

Hendricks starts his over well enough but eventually drifts too far down leg side. Roy flicks him off his hip to the boundary.

The early signs are there isn't much to fear in this pitch. There wasn't any early spin. England make a strong start.

That didn't take long. Jason Roy into the stands. Absolutely crunched.

Spinner Bjorn Fortuin is opening the bowling to Jason Roy. The England batsman is hit on the pad first up but then grabs an easy single to get off the mark.

Yes, Colonel Sanders was at the toss today which, if you're just joining us, was won by South Africa - hence England batting first.

Malan's last match for England was that T20 in New Zealand when he scored a hundred but did not run a bye on the last ball. Eoin Morgan criticised him after the game for that.

Jamie: If Malan is left out because he didn't run a bye last year it's incredibly pretty. If it's not and it's based on cricketing factors then it's incredibly thick.

But Denly didn't bowl in the last game when the spinners were going well and the seamers getting smashed.

    It is an odd one.

Si Lomas: You've got someone in Malan who averages 57 at a strike rate of 155 and you pick someone as Joe Average as Denly who simply doesn't have the gears or range of strokes, mind boggling.

Mark Heads: I can only assume it's Denly's spin option which puts him in the side - he comes in too low down the order for Malan to be there instead and just bat.

South Africa have made one change. Dale Steyn is out with left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin in. The lack of Steyn has put a downer on my Valentine's.

South Africa: Bavuma, de Kock (wk & c), van der Dussen, Smuts, Miller, Pretorius, Phehlukwayo, Hendricks, Shamsi, Ngidi, Fortuin

England: Roy, Buttler (wk), Bairstow, Morgan(c), Denly, Stokes, Moeen, T Curran, Jordan, Rashid, Wood.
