Deepti doesn't look as threatening as she normally does.

  2. Ban 90-4published at 14.2 overs

    Target 143

Now Sultana drives Sharma for four. Bangladesh aren't still in this, are they?

  3. dropped catch

N Sultana dropped on 24published at 14 overs

    Ban 85-4

A drop, but a very tough chance. Jemimah Rodrigues coming off the cover fence, diving and getting both hands to it, but the ball doesn't stick. Khatun had already sliced two boundaries in the over. 11 from it.

India don't need to search for wickets because the run-rate will eventually get Bangladesh out of this game.

  5. Ban 73-4published at 13 overs

    Target 143

There are more than 5,000 inside the Waca tonight. A great crowd. Imagine how many will be inside the MCG if the final is between Australia and India. The required rate is 10 an over.

  6. Ban 67-4published at 12 overs

    Target 143

Fahima Khatun is the new bat, but you fear the rest of this match might be little more than a procession.

That's a very good catch from the keeper.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.3 overs

    Fargana c Bhatia b Reddy 0 (Ban 66-4)

Great catch! Taniya Bhatia had a very good game behind the stumps against Australia and now she's taken a ripper standing up to the pace of Arundhati Reddy. An edge from Fargana Hoque sees her go for a duck. Bangaldesh are losing their way.

  9. Ban 61-3published at 11 overs

    Target 143

Fargana Hoque is the new bat, arriving at a time when Bangladesh need to keep the scoring rate high. Hard against Poonam at the best of times, let alone when you're new to the crease. Only one run and the wicket from the over. Poonam at it again.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.2 overs

    Islam c Bhatia b Poonam 10 (Ban 61-3)

Poonam Yadav knows her stuff! Sanjida Islam was on the sweep and only Poonam was convinced about the under edge. The tiny spike of sound confirms what Poonam knew. Bangladesh lose their third wicket.

  11. India reviewpublished at 10.2 overs

    Ban 61-2

Poonam has talked Harmanpreet into a review here. She wants Islam caught behind. It looks fanciful...

  12. Ban 60-2published at 10 overs

    Target 143

This is good from Sultana, who uses the pace of Reddy. First a cut shot, then an angle to third man - a couple of boundaries. Bangladesh are just about keeping up with the required rate of eight an over. We may yet have a decent finish.

  13. Ban 50-2published at 9 overs

    Target 143

Nigar Sultana, very successful with the bat over the past year, is the new batter. More importantly, leg-spinner Poonam Yadav is on, defying physics with how slowly she is bowling the ball. Unusually awry, Poonam is swept for four by Sultana.

That's a brilliant catch - she had run around from extra cover to take that. But also a good innings. I'll be really disappointed if Bangladesh don't keep going with the aggression.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8 overs

    M Kahtun c Ghosh b Reddy 30 (Ban 44-2)

A wicket you felt was coming. Bangladesh needed to get a shift on, but Murshida Khatun mishits a Reddy slower ball, sending the ball skywards. When it comes down, Richa Ghosh holds the catch at extra cover.

  16. Ban 44-1published at 7.5 overs

Arundhati Reddy replaces Shikhar Pandey - pace for pace. Taniya Bhatia, the wicketkeeper, is standing back with a helmet on. Bangladesh are playing a lot of shots, but the ball isn't going very far. A lack of power. You don't need power, when you time it, tough. Khatun goes through mid-off for the first boundary in five overs.

Bangladesh really need to find the boundary.

  18. Ban 38-1published at 7 overs

Still Gayakwad, bowling her left-armers round the wicket. She has a black headband keeping her long hair tidy. Lots of swiping and smearing from Bangladesh, but not a great deal of bat on ball. The required rate is above eight.

  19. Ban 33-1published at 6 overs

    Target 143

Pandey into her third over. When Islam gets a leading edge, the ball loops back in the direction of the bowler, but the diving Pandey can't get there. End of the powerplay. I wonder how long it will be before we see Poonam Yadav's leg-spin.

  20. Ban 29-1published at 5 overs

    Target 143

This is the 12th time these two sides have played each other in T20s. India have won nine of the previous 11. Rajeshwari Gayakwad is on to bowl her left-arm spin. The fielders in the ring are sitting on the edge of the circle, so there are plenty of singles around. However, this is the fourth over out of five not to yield a boundary.
