  1. WI 100-1published at 33 overs

    Brathwaite 48, Hope 16

There's plenty of encouragement from vice-captain Jos Buttler and captain Ben Stokes at wicketkeeper and slip respectively for Dom Bess.

    A better over.

Still, the West Indies hundred is up...

  2. WI 96-1published at 32 overs

That one made me chuckle. Keep them coming.

Brathwaite flaps a little at another Archer bouncer but it runs safe down to Jimmy Anderson at fine leg who is fielding in front of a hand sanitiser station.

Just as I write that, there's another near miss for England.

Hope tries to turn his good mate Jofra Archer into the leg side but gets a leading edge. The ball flies over the head of the gangly Zak Crawley in the slips.

It's just not quite happening for the bowlers.

It has all gone to plan for West Indies so far this morning...

  6. WI 90-1published at 31 overs

Dom Bess is yet to find a consistent line and length. Brathwaite leaves a wide ball alone at the end of his second over.

To come in this morning, with fresh bowlers and a relatively new ball, this West Indies pair look so focused. Everything they do looks like it is being done with a purpose.

Brathwaite top-edges a pull uncomfortably, his head turning away as he made contact. It was the type of shot that would have got the home crowd excited if there were spectators in the ground. Two more zip through in the rest of the over, one hitting Brathwaite on the back.

There are no cries of encouragement from the stands in these different times.

  9. WI 86-1published at 29 overs

Unsurprisingly there's not a lot of spin for Bess in his first over. It's got to be a win for West Indies that they've got through England's spinner with only one wicket down. West Indies didn't bowl an over of spin in their innings.

It's a double bowling change for England. We're going to have spin for the first time in the match. Dom Bess is on.

  11. WI 82-1published at 28 overs

    Brathwaite 38, Hope 9

Kohli would definitely be in charge. Of everything.

No joy for Archer in a quiet opening over. His pace is in the mid to high 80s so he just be limbering up.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Dom Bess. It might jag a bit. It doesn't seem to be happening for the quicks yet.

Mark Wood slaps the pitch in frustration after another near miss. Brathwaite goes for a pull shot and ends up chipping the ball down through mid-on for three. I've no idea how Brathwaite got the ball there. It was in the air too and had Wood not fallen over he might have been in with a chance of a catch.

Brathwaite ends the over with a much better back-foot punch for four.

AB De Villiers - you always beg him to play but he's always busy. When he does, he turns up 30 minutes late because he's played football in the morning. Bowls 10 overs as soon as he arrives, puts the keeping pads on for the rest before opening the batting, hitting a quick 50 and heading off early for a quick nine holes on the golf course. Doesn't socialise because he's always got another sport to go and win but every time he plays, you win.

Abinash Dash: Jimmy Anderson's looks and bowling action truly resembles Roger Federer today. In fact, with his fitness and skill intact at this age he is like Roger Federer of swing bowling.
