Shane Dowrich seems to have the perfected the evading a bouncer whilst looking very uncomfortable. He ends up on his backside in Wood's over but still has his wicket intact.

Here's how James Anderson dismissed Roston Chase a couple of overs ago.

Jofra Archer's spell ends wicketless again. Mark Wood returns for his first spell with this second new ball.

He's not in the greatest nick is Jason Holder, having made 0, five and two in the West Indies' two warm-up games.

He towers over Shane Dowrich, making it look like he's batting with his son, when the pair come together after a maiden.

I love Jofra as a bowler, but how is his pace almost 10mph down, despite the incentive of a new ball? Perhaps we should just use him in white-ball cricket?

West Indies' lead is very handy but it's not insurmountable yet. If England can rattle through the lower order and then bat well they still have a chance.

Shane Dowrich, though, keeps plodding on. Two more to his name.

Time for a change at Archer's end, I think.

But that wicket only brings Jason Holder to the crease. England need no reminding of the double hundred he scored against them last year.

Ben Stokes was clever - because Anderson is the type of bowler who wouldn't gamble on a review. Chase deserved a half-century, he hung in there and battled.

    But that's crucial for England.

Chase lbw Anderson 47 (WI 267-6)

There's a big roar of delight from the England players as the ball-tracking shows the ball would have clattered into middle stump.

    Boy they needed that.

Once there was no inside edge - the ball hit both pads which made the two noises - it was always close.

It's Anderson again. It's always Jimmy Anderson.

Actually, this looks close. Very close. It's only height that can save him.

I don't think has hit it, you know.

There was an inside edge I think. You get a sense it's a little bit of desperation.

If Chase hasn't hit this is has to be out lbw.

England send it upstairs,. They're desperate.

Archer reminds us what he can do whether a lively ball that jumps off a length but misses the edge. Those deliveries have been too rare from him today.

Are England flat? Or am I just saying that because there's no atmosphere.

The second new ball has looked glorious for batting. A little bit of swing, no uneven bounce, ball coming onto the bat nicely.

    It's trouble for England.

  19. WI 267-5published at 87.2 overs

Not going to happen I'm afraid.

West Indies are rattling along at 4.5 runs per over since England took the new ball. Whether Broad would have took wickets or not I doubt he'd have leaked runs like this.
