    Lead by 62

I've just had to dash around my flat to close all of the windows because of a sudden downpour.

Thankfully it's sunny in Southampton but if this goes on much longer England may be wishing for rain.

Dowrich flicks Anderson down to fine leg for four.

It's an England bowling performance which has lacked rhythm. You can understand that. Although the West Indies managed to do it.

  3. WI 259-5published at 86 overs

    Chase 45, Dowrich 37

Excellent work, Steve. A good way to pass the time. Has anyone got any other suggestions?

Archer gets Dowrich in a tangle with a short ball but the wicketkeeper batsman manages to get his bat and gloves out of the way despite almost falling over.

More runs for Shane Dowrich as he pulls Anderson off a decent length for two. Whatever the England camp said at tea it hasn't worked so far.

There's no applause from fans, of course. But there will be from the West Indies camp. This second new ball is proving to be expensive for England. Anderson is looking dismayed.

  7. WI 256-5published at 84.2 overs

England are being punished badly here.

Too wide from Anderson and Dowrich slaps the ball away again.

Were England right to drop Broad?published at 16:37 British Summer Time 10 July 2020

The selectors picked the right team. However good Broad is, he will not be a frontline bowler come the next Ashes series and that's what England have to build towards.

  9. WI 252-5published at 84 overs

    Chase 44, Dowrich 30

Roston Chase seems to have Jofra Archer covered at the moment. When it's there to hit he's putting him away. When it's short he gets his gloves out of the way and when it's on target he blocks. Simple.

Captain Stokes has a decision to make.

That first was an absolute gift. Any player worth their salt at this level would put that away. And then Archer bowls it there again.

  11. WI 252-5published at 83.2 overs

Back-to-back boundaries off his pads from Chase to Archer.

West Indies' lead rises to 48.

Jofra Archer is skilful enough to adjust his pace depending on the conditions. Remember the Headingley Ashes Test last year? He took five wickets essentially bowling fast medium. It seems he's doing similar today. England have left a handy fast-medium bowler out of the side...

  13. WI 244-5published at 83 overs

They had a busy comeback yesterday but today it has been quiet.

In fairness, Jimmy Anderson couldn't have done much more in this over. Chase looked all at sea. Excellent and unfortunate from England's greatest.

  15. WI 243-5published at 82.1 overs

Bess will be out of the attack for a while with England having taken the new ball. In the meantime it looks like he has been given the job of shining the ball. His trousers are stained red.

Anderson bowls an absolute ripper to Chase that just evades middle stump.

High praise from a man who knew a thing or two about bowling spin.

You can hear from Tuffers in Today at the Test on BBC Two and the BBC Sport website at 19:00 BST.

  17. WI 243-5published at 82 overs

    Lead by 39

Archer is just finding a bit of nip off the pitch with Dowrich getting a couple into his thigh pad.

Archer's head rocks back at the end of the over and he mutters something in dismay.

It has not been his day so far.

Anderson is kicking away at the foot-hole there, he's not happy with it at all. Dust flying out of it.

That's the end of a disappointing over for him, it's not the start he would have wanted.

  20. WI 242-5published at 81 overs

    Chase 34, Dowrich 30

Yes! He's just become a minor celebrity.

Anderson, grumpy as ever, fails to find a breakthrough in his first over of the session.
