Andy Dufty: How is that not out? The ball is clattering into the stumps.

Reverend Leroy: On what planet, and in what dimension is that not out?

There was almost one more reason for England to cheer before lunch, but Roston Chase survived a review for lbw off Bess. But, boy, was it close.

By 1.30pm yesterday I'd already nicked behind for one, took off from a length - unplayable (ish) & was listening to TMS. However, I was just happy to be playing. OK, I wasn't. Fuming and hate this game.

That merely paved the way for Archer to star with the ball, forcing John Campbell to retire hurt and removing Kraigg Brathwaite and Shamarh Brooks. West Indies were tottering on 27-3.

    An eventful morning session.

England, 284-8 overnight, managed to make it to 313, thanks largely to Jofra Archer's lesser-spotted prowess with the bat. He ended up with 23 and Shannon Gabriel an impressive 5-75.

Just managed to get a cricket injury whilst not playing cricket. Mowing the lawn whilst listening to TMS and have managed to roll my ankle on a stray cricket ball in Glenn McGrath 2005 style. Now sitting on sofa with an ice pack wondering how much damage I've done in the knowledge that I still have half the lawn to go. Missus is chuckling and calling me Glenn already!

I think 35-40% is fair. England are right amongst the middle order, the bowlers haven't had many miles in their legs and they have their tails are up.

Mark Burt: Sorry, how is that not out? Hitting the top of middle stump flush. These umpires do themselves no favours.

That would have been the perfect way to go to lunch.

That's it for the morning session.

England can't complain with their work. West Indies aren't out of it though.

The technology made it look a lot closer than it was. I think Stokes might have been more interested in the inside edge as he caught it at slip.

West Indies got some horrible luck with decisions on the first few days but they've got away with this.

The ball was hitting a good chunk of middle stump but it's only umpire's call.

All of the England players throw their hands up in the arm and let their heads rock back.

Huuuge turn from Bess onto the pad of Chase.

The umpire says no. England fancy a look. Stokes is quickly making that T sign.

    Chase 8, Blackwood 1

Ollie Pope is lurking like a lion in the long grass at short leg, hoping to pounce on anything that comes his way. One off Chase's bat isn't too far from him but it goes quickly and offers little chance.

Stokes isn't over-attacking. He still has men out in the deep.
