West Indies have been outstanding, they are back in the content. This is a worrying partnership for Jason Holder, though. I don't know if it's got a little bit quicker or whether West Indies have just bowled a little bit better. The catches have been carrying so that will give James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes confidence.

I reckon the momentum is starting to shift. The momentum West Indies had has gone, this partnership has taken that away.

Is there a single cricketer in the world who is better value than Stuart Broad?

Now he tees off over cover for four more.

Stuart Broad is smiling because it's seaming. James Anderson and Broad on this kind of wicket, 310 doesn't sound like a massive total but I think it's plenty on this kind of wicket that we've seen today.

  7. Eng 310-8published at 97.3 overs

And now Stuart Broad slaps it up over the slips for four.

A nothing short ball and Broad whacks it away with aplomb.

West Indies aren't getting their tactics right to Broad.

That is very frustrating for Jason Holder. It was a genuine edge and a catchable height but no-one was at home.

And Stuart Broad nicks Jason Holder's first delivery of the day through the only gap in the slip cordon for four.

Jason Holder is bringing himself into the attack, ending a fantastic spell by Shannon Gabriel.

This game has advanced rather rapidly from where it was overnight. That is no bad thing for the series with the expected bad weather on Monday and we want to see a series winner really.

England being not very good actually makes for a more interesting Test match.

Ben Thapa: This is the right tactic. Bess play like a batsman, Broad swing from the hip.

These are some nuisance runs from Stuart Broad. It's around this time that the laughs start to turn to groans.

Stuart Broad backs away to Shannon Gabriel and slaps him through the covers for four. Wonderful.

That's the 300 up for England.

Since his maiden Test ton against India in August 2018, Chris Woakes averages 11.86 in 10 matches.

In the same time, Jos Buttler averages 31.14 in 22 matches.

I think Buttler showed his value in Test cricket when able to start his innings batting with recognised batsmen and instead of shepherding the tail from the off. It's worth having him in the top six if possible. Or at seven as long as the middle order stick in with him.

I fear Woakes' batting is in a slump.

Chris Woakes has a better first-class average and more first-class hundreds than Buttler, so how many positions too high is Jos?
