He couldn't resist!
Ricky Ponting was a very good captain, just not especially in English conditions.

Maybe I'm just suckered in by the cover drive, but Shai Hope is a batsman I'd really like to see do well in Test cricket.
Those innings at Headingley in 2017 were stupendous.
But he's got a lot of work to do to find that consistency.

Mark: What a shot to get out to when trying to bat out the day....there’s positive then there’s daft.
Vic Marks
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
Stuart Broad did well. We were saying how fluently Shai Hope was playing but he toe-ended it. Just for a second it wasn't obvious which England fielder was going to take that but Stuart Broad said 'don't panic' and he got in a good position.
That's a big wicket for England. The pitch isn't doing a lot, that was just a standard delivery.

Shai Hope was batting so well but he's been tied up by a short ball and he didn't get in a good position.
I don't think Stuart Broad judged that well initially but he took it in the end.
Hope c Broad b Woakes 31 (WI 71-4)
What are you doing, Shai Hope? That's not the one. Not at all.
The West Indies batsman had played positively but not recklessly so far this morning, getting the balance just right.
He gets this all wrong though, aiming a flaying pull shot at Chris Woakes and spooning the ball straight up off the toe end of the bat.
The ball swirls around in the Manchester breeze and Stuart Broad - who else? - calls for it and completes a decent high catch.

Jason Britton: I bet none of the leading wicket takers above Broad spent most of their career without a choice of ends to bowl from!

Someone outside the ground is playing what sounds like a saxophone. I think it's coming from the Old Trafford tram station. It may or may not be in tribute to Stuart Broad, but it has certainly caught Jofra Archer's attention.

This is Shai Hope's highest score since January 2019. He has played six Tests since then.

That is a beautiful drive. Shai Hope has played a couple of high-class shots in that over.
Brooks 14, Hope 31
Shai Hope has one of the best cover drives in world cricket.
That high elbow on the follow through is perfect as he crashes Jofra Archer away for four.

This spell of Stuart Broad's spell - three wickets on day three and five. It is his fourth spell in two Tests that he has taken three or more wickets. He also did in the third Test in South Africa so that's five times in four Tests that he's done that.
He'd only had three in the previous two years of Test cricket. We often think of Broad and these spells - they had somewhat dried up but this year he's been as potent as ever.
Stuart Broad is done for now as Jofra Archer comes into the attack.

Paul Williams: Since Brathwaite was both Anderson & Broad's 500th wicket, do you think he'd mind posing for some kind of potentially awkward photo? I'm thinking one of those photo frames, a ball each and a 500 sign of some kind.
Brooks 14, Hope 23
Shamarh Brooks shovels a slightly unconvincing hook shot over square leg for a couple of runs.
It's not rained at all where I am two miles away from the ground since play started at 11:00. In fact, it's been sunny the whole time too.
But Old Trafford is getting a few more ominous clouds and the groundstaff are hovering.
No rain as yet though.
Chris Woakes is on for James Anderson and starts by inducing an edge from Shamarh Brooks.
But it flies past the diving gully fielder and away for four.
