What is Stuart Broad's greatest comedy moment though? Not walking against Australia? That wave to Marnus Labuschagne? The entire concept of the celebrappeal?
Such a repertoire to choose from.

Sam Limbert: Stuart Broad has managed to combine being tremendous comedy value with being a sensational and consistently brilliant player. Brilliant achievement to reach 500!
Rob George: Congratulations Stuart Broad on reaching 500 test wickets, We've been blessed to live in this era of Anderson and Broad. They have set the bar for others to follow
The 500 club
Stuart Broad offers Shamarh Brooks a wide one and the Windies batsman drives it through point for four.
And here is the moment...
The improvement in average over James Anderson's career is astounding but that's similarly impressive from Stuart Broad.
They'll be taking their wickets at an average of 10 aged 50 at this rate.

If you look at the breakdown of his career and the improvement he's made after a very slow start to his England career.
He was averaging over 40 after his first 20 Tests. His first 100 wickets came at an average of 35.9, his next 27.1, then 26.5, then there was a slight dip between 300-400 where he averaged 28.5 and the last hundred wickets have come at 22.7.

Just to reflect on this achievement, you think of the long career of Courtney Walsh, he was a tireless bowler. He took 519 wickets spread over quite a few years and he was quite an elderly gentleman when he finished. Stuart Broad is only 34.
Target 399
James Anderson - who has actually bowled a bit better than Stuart Broad this morning - continues.
And he sends down a very testing maiden over at Shamarh Brooks.
Just 301 more to go then Stuart.

Stuart Broad is the second youngest after Muttiah Muralitharan to reach 500 wickets, he was 31.

Stuart Broad has sped to it almost if you think he started the series on 485.
Right. So can Stuart Broad now also go on one of THOSE spells?
Shamarh Brooks gets off the mark with a clip through square leg for three.
Stuart Broad almost looks a tad sheepish as his England team-mate stand around him applauding.
He turns to wave the ball in the direction of the stands to acknowledge his dad and match referee Chris Broad, who smiles and waves back.
Strange circumstances but lovely that his father can be at the match for this moment.

West Indies all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special
Congratulations to Stuart Broad, He has worked very hard. He put himself under some pressure during the first Test and he's backed it up, he thoroughly deserves it.
Kraigg Brathwaite won't be happy with being James Anderson and Stuart Broad's 500th Test wicket. But it was almost unplayable.

He was absolutely plumb, it went low. Broad has made the breakthrough. Brathwaite could do nothing about that.
Brathwaite lbw Broad 19 (WI 45-3)
It does not get any plumber than that - Stuart Broad has 500 Test wickets!
Celebrappeal away, Stuart.
Kraigg Brathwaite goes down in cricketing lore as the same man to be James Anderson and Stuart Broad's 500th Test victim.
And that's a tough ball to get - it kept very low and struck him on the back leg dead in front. No need to review that.
Broad did actually turn to appeal this time but the finger was already going up.

Do I believe the West Indies are good enough to do it? Yes I do.
Do I know the characters in the dressing room and know they would want to do it? Yes.
Do I explicitly expect them to? Not so sure. It will be a combination of collective batting effort, mixed with a bit of rain.
Kraigg Brathwaite plays a deft late cut to a wide delivery beyond the dive of backward point for four.
Impressive start from this pair today.

I love that from Shai. I've been crying out for the batsman to be more positive, but not reckless.
