Stoinis has a nice touch, he's not all brute power. He has a rounded game.

We've seen good movement from the bowlers but there's not much margin for error. Anything slightly wide and it is punished.
I like Marcus Stoinis. Seems like a decent bloke. Plus he's got massive biceps and looks like he could play James Bond. He's started really nicely, this time punching Wood off the back foot through point. An edge to third man is fortunate, but he probably deserves a bit of luck. Now a pull for four. Expensive over. Stoinis has 32 from 24.

My wife once bought me membership at Warwickshire County Cricket Club as an early birthday present. I watched them lose almost every game that year, get relegated, much of it extremely cold early/late season conditions. Other than that, it was absolutely magnificent, and I've stayed a member since.

Labuschagne is wearing black socks. Village. What isn't village is his straight drive back past Chris Woakes for four. Like the swing of a pendulum. That might be it for Woakes.

I feel Richard in Edinburgh has showed me up somewhat - the catching net I've ordered for my wife's birthday seems a little low key compared to a bowling machine! Still, she wants to hone her wicket-keeping skills, having only taken up the game in the past five years. I also hope she's not keeping up with TMS by text!

Are you being serious? Surely a talking train has more need for someone to control it? If it's intelligent enough to talk, who knows what it might do if left unsupervised.
I've just remembered Labuschagne's role in the Aussie doco, The Test, clearing up Steve Smith's kit in return for a free bat.

Marnus Labuschagne is the new man. The last time he played here for Australia, he was waved off by Stuart Broad.

What a great start from Mark Wood. Aaron Finch's eyes lit up and he tried to drive it but it wasn't full enough. And there was no foot movement.

A beautiful length delivery, just a hint of away movement.
Finch c Buttler b Wood 16 (Aus 43-2)
First ball! Mark Wood replaces Jofra Archer and makes an immediate impact. Full length, maybe a hint of movement away, Aaron Finch getting an edge through to Jos Buttler. If Jofra doesn't get you...

Joe Root wasn't paying attention when Mark Wood pinged a throw back in from the boundary and almost jumped out of his skin as Eoin Morgan ran in front of him to ensure he didn't get a nasty thwack.

That was Woakes' first loose delivery. He's been brilliant in the five overs he's bowled. Those two boundaries make his figures look worse than how he has actually bowled.
Edge from Finch, past slip, down to the third man boundary. Woakes has got a middle parting. He looks a bit mid-90s boyband. Five, Backstreet Boys, N-Sync, 911. Not old enough for Take That. Too likeable for Boyzone or Westlife. Lovely from Stoinis, driven through the covers. He looks in good touch.

It's interesting, the first couple of overs from Jofra he bowled 85mph and was getting movement. And now that the movement is gone, he's bowling more aggressively and using the short ball, and the pace has gone up.
Archer really is bringing the thunder. One short ball to Stoinis almost has the visitor to The Love Cafe standing on his own stumps. Have a look at the way he cleaned up David Warner...

England missed Eoin Morgan in that last T20. Moeen did a good job, but I mean that bit of calmness.
This is absolutely magnificent chat. A bowling machine has to go down as one of the all-time great cricket-related birthday presents. Also, what about coming to the game late and being that into it? Marvellous.
I got some cricket cuff links last Christmas. I love them.
