  1. Pak 203-5published at 77 overs

    Shan Masood 80, Shadab 14

Dom Bess with a quicker delivery almost catches Shan Masood out. The opener manages to get his bat down in time, a late cut down to Jofra Archer at third man who does well to stop the boundary.

But England are leaking runs here after lunch as Bess goes short and well wide of leg stump, a ball just asking to be swept for four.

Eight from the over again and the 200 up for Pakistan.

After saying that Pakistan went nowhere in the morning session, they've picked up eight runs in a possibly speculative Joe Root over.

  3. Pak 195-5published at 13:45 British Summer Time 6 August 2020

Both these teams are susceptible to a collapse. That's what makes this clash so interesting.

Joe Root is sporting a big headband to keep those locks intact. Lots of flights offered as Shadab slices down to third man for three.

The Pakistan number seven that sweeps for four more.

Chris Etheridge: Watching England bowl well this morning was great - but it makes me nervous about their chances when batting later. A collapse never feels far away.

Joe Root with the ball to kick things off after lunch. He'll be encouraged by that turn from Bess before lunch. Five overs until the new ball.

Right, both teams have had their lunch. I wonder what they ate? I assume Younes Khan will have made some notes on it.

Joe Root leads his side onto the field. Chris Woakes is beaming. And so he should be, he has bowled beautifully in this innings.

Simon Mahon: England seemed encouraged by the turn Dom Bess got in that over before lunch. Wonder if they'll feel the same when Shadab Khan and Yasir Shah have the ball in the fourth innings.

The positive for Pakistan this morning? Well, opener Shan Masood is still there and grinding it out. He has 77 from 225 balls.

Rod: I think 'Woakes is an under rated bowler' is becoming the cricketing equivalent of 'he's got good feet for a big fella.' Commentators seem to be scrambling to get it in. Suggests we all know he's good.

My first ever bat was from Pakistan. Didn't serve me too well in the Medway Under-13's league. I am pretty sure it weighed more than I did.

The clean-shaven James Anderson was on fire straight away this morning.

England will be well pleased. Right back in this game. Although it's difficult to tell what a par score is but England are doing everything they can.

With such a long tail, England will fancy their chances to get Pakistan out quickly after lunch and then bat well.
