    Shafiq c Stokes b Broad 7 (Pak 150-4)

Great ball, and the pressure tells!

Again, it's that fuller length, this time from Stuart Broad, and a non-descript poke forward does for Asad Shafiq. The ball goes quickly off the shoulder of the bat to Ben Stokes, who dives in front of Joe Root to take a tidy grab at second slip.

Younis Khan, Pakistan's batting coach, has got a huge notepad that he's scribbling in as he watches on from the stands. Superb. Very much the air of a schoolteacher that knows you can do better.

  3. Pak 150-3published at 56 overs

Another fine over from James Anderson - here's how he removed star man Babar Azam in the first over of this morning's play.

Root has so many options in this side that he has to make decisions. He went with the veterans to open the bowling today but he easily could have gone for Archer and Woakes.

But Broad and Anderson have bowled well, they make the batsmen work and there are very few runs out there.

  5. Pak 150-3published at 55 overs

Stuart Broad whips through yet another maiden. No freebies this morning for the Pakistan batsmen.

It was a good single, a sharp one. Broad was quick on it but he would have been safe. It gives you the indication that Pakistan want to take the initiative.

  8. Pak 150-3published at 54 overs

Zip from James Anderson, whipping the ball past Asad Shafiq's outside edge as he plays a tentative defensive stroke.

Asad nicks a sneaky single, taking advantage of a swooping Stuart Broad at cover, to get the strike ticking over. That's something Pakistan did so well yesterday.

Oliver Camp: Nice, Dom! The 'old' Sibley wouldn't have reached that. Hard work paying off.

That was terrific fielding. It bounced nicely so he could make a great goalkeeping save.

  11. Pak 149-3published at 53 overs

    Masood 50, Shafiq 6

Brilliant work all round, as Shan Masood flays a drive away and a leaping Dom Sibley throws himself in the path of the ball to stop it going for four.

Stuart Broad, searching for that lbw, wheels his way through a maiden.

That was a lovely, controlled drive. He didn't hit it really, he just guided it. Anderson shouldn't be too worried, you will give away the odd boundary when bowling that full length.

  14. Pak 149-3published at 52 overs

New man Asad Shafiq gets himself off the mark with a tickle around the corner for two.

Oh, shot! Just a smidgen overpitched from James Anderson and Shafiq gets down low to drive it gloriously through cover for four.

  15. Pak 143-3published at 51 overs

That lbw call, by the way? Hitting leg stump. Three reds. Shan Masood would have been on his way, had an inside edge not saved him.

A couple of offerings along the way but for a man who struggled on his last tour here, that's a good effort from Shan Masood.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Masoodpublished at 50.4 overs

Very nicely played from Shan Masood, up on tip-toes, thrashing a back of a length delivery away for a couple, and that's his half-century up.

There were two spikes which were so close together. It is a very good decision by umpire Illingworth.

  19. Not outpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 6 August 2020

That's a terrific call from Richard Illingworth, the on-field umpire.

The ball has just brushed the inside edge as Shan Masood has pushed forward, and then gone on to hit the pad.
