  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.6 overs

    Masood c Buttler b Broad 0 (Pak 6-1)

Edged and gone. Stuart Broad with the early breakthrough as Shan Masood, who batted so well for his 156 in the innings, looks to clip a leg-side delivery fine but sends it into the gloves of Jos Buttler.

  2. Pak 6-0published at 1.3 overs

Broad sends down a no-ball. Remember, the TV umpire is now calling the no-balls under new regulations for this series.

Poor from Jos Buttler behind the stumps as he misjudges the bounce and Pakistan add four byes to their lead. His wicketkeeping just hasn't been up to scratch this Test.

Tea will be taken at 15:50 today to make up for the time lost on day one of this Test.

Ollie Pope pounced on the ball like a cat on a mouse.

  4. PAk 1-0published at 1.2 overs

Abid clips Broad off the pads and it looks to be a certain four but there's a brilliant piece of fielding from Ollie Pope at mid-wicket. The single brings up the first runs of this Pakistan innings.

I said earlier Broad is wearing a headband. It's not a headband, is it? It's a bandanna.

Either way, it's a maiden from Anderson as Shan Masood sees out the over.

That's the length to be bowling early on - a little bit fuller than we saw in the first innings. Masood doesn't get onto that front foot early in his innings.

  8. Pak 0-0published at 0.2 overs

Beauty from Anderson! He bowls full, seam up and Shan Masood almost edges to Buttler.

I thought Jos Buttler fought valiantly. He tried to play a genuine Test match innings in difficult circumstances. But it only takes one slight error in judgement when you're up against such top class bowling.

To think, Broad said he considered retirement after being dropped for last month's opening Test against West Indies.

Abid Ali and Shan Masood head to the middle. Anderson will start things off, Masood on strike.

England are in a huddle on the outfield. Archer warming up with a medicine ball, Broad sporting that white 'Karate Kid' headband.

They need early wickets. Ideally, 10 of them.

England need to be clear in how they are going to go about restricting Pakistan in this second innings. A lot will depend on how pro-active Pakistan will be.

So then, we wait for the change of innings. Broad and Anderson will come out with the new ball and hope they can do something special to claw this game back for England.

There were some important runs from Stuart Broad, who remained unbeaten at 29, at the end but Pakistan firmly in control here.

If Pakistan can get an overall lead of 250, they'd think that's enough to win the game.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

    Anderson lbw b Shadab 7 (Eng 219 all-out)

Yep, three reds on ball tracker. And that's the end of the England innings. Pakistan lead by 107 after the first innings.

It was a quicker ball and fuller. Jimmy reviewed it straight away.

  20. England reviewpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

    Eng 219 all out

Has Shadab made amends for that dropped catch? Anderson struck low on the pads and is given out. England review but I'm sure he's gone.
