This pitch is like a road, it looks glorious to bat on. Perhaps the only danger is one which keeps a bit low.

Patrick Allinson: Camping last two weekends trying to keep up with the cricket using a solar charger. Bit like a Sibley innings, challenging morning under cloud cover the phone battled its way to a plucky 42 in 3 hours.
Better from Naseem Shah, spearing the ball a touch fuller, and Zak Crawley plays out the rest of the over in careful fashion.

Crawley really has got himself settled here. He's played with so much ease.
Four more!
This time it's short from Naseem Shah but it sits up invitingly for Zak Crawley, barely getting above waist height, and Crawley is on it with a flash to punch it in front of square. He's played so well this morning.

Zak Crawley is playing a different sport out there at the moment. Remember, this was the man who made way for two Tests so England could rebalance the side when Ben Stokes couldn't bowl.
Shot!
Soft hands from Zak Crawley, coupled with an angled bat, and he guides Naseem Shah away for four.

You don't feel Yasir is going to rip one off a length here. The key is not to get too giddy.
Crawley 37, Sibley 22
Zak Crawley is rollocking along at a fair old rate. Joe Root-esque.
It's so easy for both Crawley and Dom Sibley to push the singles here and there off Yasir Shah.

I can't imagine Naseem Shah, at 17, has ever had to bowl in windy conditions like this. It's understandable why Pakistan have been a little bit inconsistent. They've bowled too many on the pads of the batsmen.
Not there, Naseem. Too straight, too leggy, and he's whipped with ease to fine leg for four by Zak Crawley.
Naseem is a little too full as he tries to compensate and a nice, flowing drive brings up another couple of runs for Crawley and England.

Sibley 21, Crawley 28
Yasir Shah continues and he's driven nicely by Dom Sibley for a couple of runs. It's notable how Sibley has started using his feet more to the spinners, to try and keep that scoreboard rolling along.

“I’m Afradi did.”

The two right-handers have looked in full control so far. Particularly Crawley, he's playing with fluency. He times the ball gloriously.
If you're wondering how slow this pitch is, an 87mph delivery from Naseem Shah has come through to the keeper, Mohammad Rizwan, at big toe height.
There's, er, not a lot of carry, I think it's fair to say. Just a single from the over.
Drinks over and done with, and Naseem Shah is into the attack.
I'd much prefer to watch Zak Crawley batting for several hours than Steve Smith.
(I actually love Smith's idiosyncrasies but, you know. After a certain point you just want the man to get out.)

Crawley played for the same club in Kent as Steve Smith, Sevenoaks Vine.
