    Crawley 210, Butler 123

Zak Crawley is a tall lad but he almost puts his back out trying to uppercut this bouncer from Shaheen Afridi. It's promptly called wide by the umpire.

Meanwhile, Ed Smith and his Bond villain sunglasses have rocked up at the Ageas Bowl. He's watching from the stands, with Jonathan Trott for company.

Chris Woakes must have pad rash, he's been sat out on the balcony for so long.

This Jos Buttler innings is now the highest score by an England wicketkeeper against Pakistan.

  5. Eng 401-4published at 116 overs

For the first time, Shaheen Afridi bends his back into a bouncer, trying to surprise Jos Buttler, but it sits up well enough for Buttler to roll his wrists on a controlled pull for two.

Shaheen fizzes one onto Buttler's thigh, perhaps surprising the batsman with a bit of extra pace, but it's too high to trouble the umpire.

It hasn't seemed like a risky, overly aggressive innings from Crawley. It has just seemed natural and well-paced. I can't remember him offering any real chances.

  7. Eng 399-4published at 115 overs

    Crawley 205, Buttler 120

Yasir Shah drops temptingly short and Jos Buttler, aiming a big, booming pull through mid-wicket, ends up thrashing at fresh air.

Zak Crawley, however, gets a leggy gift that he can easily get down and sweep to the boundary.

Doctor Joker: Great knock by Crawley, surely at the rate he's batting, he can reach 300?

Ruth Jones: Not since Downton Abbey has a Crawley reached such heights.

What a landmark, well played Zak Crawley. He's gone about it beautifully, he's showed a lot of patience today with the rain.

  11. Eng 392-4published at 114 overs

Zak Crawley is the first England player since Rob Key - who, coincidentally, has been a huge influence on Crawley's career - to turn his maiden hundred into a double.

It's just nice, isn't it, when good things happen to people who have clearly worked so hard for their success.

What a shame there is no crowd, the place would have been up. But this will still live with him forever.

It's an edge, a streaky one but Crawley won't care. The third youngest Englishman to score a double century, the last one being David Gower 41 years ago.

It's been a beautiful knock from a very promising young player.

    What a moment!

It comes off an outside edge but you know what, when you've played as well as this, you deserve every bit of fortune that comes your way.

A superb moment for Zak Crawley, reaching his first double hundred in cricket, and getting a rousing ovation from the England balcony in celebration.

It went like a rocket. Great shot, great timing and great power.

  17. Eng 387-4published at 112.2 overs

Oh, that's a tired looking dive from the fielder in the deep, unable to stop Zak Crawley whipping a straight Naseem Shah ball off his legs and into the ropes.

    That takes Crawley to 197...

This stand has overtaken the 254-run partnership shared by Keith Fletcher and Tony Greig against India in 1973.

  19. Eng 382-4published at 112 overs

An excellently timed single takes this partnership to 255 - and it is now officially the highest fifth-wicket stand for England in Test cricket.

It's not been a bad couple of days at the office for these two, has it?
