  1. Pak 141-5published at 55 overs

Chris Woakes gets one to jag back to Azhar Ali and hit the Pakistan captain on the pads. England appeal but umpire Michael Gough is unmoved. Remember, no reviews left for England. And replays show that it would have just clipped the top of the bails, so would have been umpire's review.

Another fine decision by umpire Gough.

Pakistan have some job on their hands to save this Test. But with bad weather forecast, certainly on day five, they'll be hoping this pair can bat for a long time to come. The partnership is now worth 66.

Azhar Ali's acceleration is continuing. A bit of attacking intent.

  3. Pak 139-5published at 54 overs

    Azhar 69, Rizwan 17

England are leaking some runs here.

Rizwan just nudges Archer through point and the ball races towards the rope as the Pakistan batting pair run three.

Azhar Ali then pulls through square leg, using the pace of the ball to send it crashing to the boundary for four.

I hope Azhar can go on and make this a big score. He is a quality player and his balance is really good today.

Azhar Ali has scored 31 from his last 30 balls.

  6. Pak 132-5published at 53 overs

Gorgeous shot from Azhar Ali. He sets his feet and elegantly cuts James Anderson through point for four. There was a bit too much width offered there from Jimmy.

Pakistan have been finding the boundaries with a little more ease over the last few overs.

And this won't do James Anderson's mood any favours - overthrows! There's no fielder backing up to Dom Bess' throw from the deep. Four more. Anderson is fuming.

That wasn't dissimilar to the blow Steve Smith took at Lord's last summer.

  8. Pak 122-5published at 52 overs

Can you imagine if you're Mohammad Abbas or Naseem Shah? Watching on from the dressing room thinking you may have to come out and face Jofra at some point today.

The England seamer is noticeably quicker in this over and looks threatening. A maiden.

Rightly so, the Pakistan medical staff come on to do all the necessary checks to make sure Rizwan is OK. He is good to go.

That was a sharp delivery - 89mph and it just took off on a length. It hit him very hard.

  11. ouch!

    Pak 122-5published at 51.1 overs

Mohammad Rizwan takes one on the grille of his helmet! It was 89mph from Archer and Rizwan doesn't get out of the way and takes it right in front of his face.

More than 50% of Azhar's runs have come behind square in this innings.

Azhar Ali steers James Anderson down to fine leg for another four.

Pakistan fans, has he shown enough already to convince you he is the right man for the captaincy? And deserving of his place in the team?

I mean, he does have 6,000 Test runs to his name...

This is Azhar's sixth half-century against England and his third 50 score as captain. It came from 173 balls, with seven fours.

    Pak 118-5

Two boundaries for Azhar Ali and he reaches his 32nd Test half-century. He's had to work hard for what many feel is an innings to save his Test career.

That ball sounds, through my earphones, like it might have gone a bit soft. It doesn't have the crack about it any more.

Shot! Mohammad Rizwan is up his toes to cut James Anderson through point for four. He really put everything into that.

The TV cameras pan to Jack Leach in his yellow bib, post-drinks. He's kicking a football around on the outside of the boundary rope while wearing, what I can only assume are, prescription sunglasses.

Seeing Jack Leach and James Bracey carry the drinks makes me think how they have been made to stay until the bitter end of the Test bubble, never actually seeing any action. One by one, others have been released. It reminds me of Big Brother. Perhaps they all have to gather, waiting for Ed Smith to appear on the screen, hoping that they are the one given the nod to enter the outside world. Ed might do a good Davina McCall. "I'm coming to get you", followed by a sympathetic interview and a video montage of their best bits.
