It is a real shame. It felt like the match was nicely poised.

  8. MATCH ABANDONEDpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 28 August 2020

They tried, but the rain proved too much. The outfield was not going to be in a fit state for the required resumption time of 21:19 BST.

We've had a message to say the groundstaff are working very hard to get a start at 21:19. The outfield is very wet so we're not completely off, but we're by no means on.

I once got Ian Bell out with left-arm spin in the nets. I think it's better than Jofra's left-arm spin but he would say differently.

  16. T20 Blast round-uppublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 28 August 2020

It's not just Manchester that has been hit by rain this evening. Play was abandoned at Hove in the T20 Blast but in the play they did manage between Sussex and Surrey, Phil Salt underlined his credentials with 28 in an over - four fours and two sixes.

The evening game between Birmingham Bears and Somerset fared even worse with not even a single ball possible.

    I don't sing.

This might surprise some people. Jos Buttler is pretty good. He does a couple of raps. American Boy by Estelle. The rap bit in that he nails.

Jonathan Trott sticks out. I'm sure everyone remembers him digging a trench. He would also come out of his room and have to close his door about 15 times. Graeme Swann would always take the same route to the ground. He also had these lucky cycling shorts and they were in a state by the end of his career. I didn't like to have duck at lunch. I'm not sure we have any superstitions in the England team now.
