    A big chance for Tom Banton at the top of the order tonight then. The 21-year-old Somerset batsman struck his maiden ODI fifty in the final match of the Ireland series earlier this month, but has had a lean run in first-class matches of late, scoring 18, 2 and 13.

    Pakistan are playing their 152nd T20i today, but their first since January's 2-0 series win against Bangladesh.

    England have played 117 T20's and their last experience of the format was also a victorious one, winning the final two matches in South Africa and scoring in excess of 200 on both occasions.

    This is the 16th T20 between the teams, England have won 10, Pakistan four, with one match tied in Sharjah in 2015.

    In Cardiff last year, Babar made 65 in Pakistan's 173-6 but Eoin Morgan's unbeaten 57 saw England home by seven wickets with four balls remaining.

    Just to recap some England news in case you missed it and Test batsman Ollie Pope is to have surgery on his dislocated left shoulder after he was injured sliding in the field during the final match at the Ageas Bowl.

    He is expected to be sidelined for four months, but it is hoped he will return in time for England’s winter tours of Sri Lanka and India starting in the early part of next year.
