The England innings should have resumed by exactly this time, 20:01, so that will be closed now and we will have the DLS calculations if the match is able to resume.

England batsman Tom Banton. speaking to Sky Sports after his 42-ball 71: "It was good fun. I struggled to begin with. They bowled nicely and then I backed myself when the spinners came on. The bounce was a bit tennis-bally, a bit slow to begin with. Pace on was quite nice but pace off was difficult."

What is a good score? "170-180. We are disappointed to lose few wickets in the last few overs but I am backing the boys to get some more runs."

Nick Knight is out there working for TV. I saw highlights earlier today of him getting out lbw first ball to Wasim Akram in full flow on this ground in 2001. It was going a foot over the top and it was a no-ball by a similar margin. It proved to be his final Test innings.

Fresh from his exciting 71, Tom Banton is interviewed in the socially distant pod by Sky Sports and he targets 170-180 for England. He also predicts only 20 more minutes of rain and then a restart. We shall see if his weather forecasting is as good as his Dilscoop.

What I like about this match is there is a bit of spin and the boundaries are right back. Sometimes in domestic cricket you see the boundaries are brought in just for batsmen to hit sixes.

A fluctuating innings for England, who lost 4-14 in three overs after Tom Banton departed for that fine 71 off 42 balls, with four fours and five sixes.
