172 is what Ireland managed on Thursday, so as a start, you want to surpass that. You want to bat the full 50 overs.

  2. Ire 132-6published at 37 overs

The end of Moeen's seventh over and only a handful of singles are mustered.

  3. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

Three boundaries for Campher so far today after his fifty on debut in the opening match.

The Bob Willis Trophy gets under way today and you can follow all the scores in our county live text here. A few too many wickets falling along the south coast.

  5. drinks break

    Drinks breakpublished at 36 overs

    Ire 128-6

Mahmood in for his fifth over, around 86mph. No boundaries for Ireland, just the 12 in the innings. Time for drinks and on come the masked members of the groundstaff to re-mark the crease in the overcast conditions.

    Tymal Mills

Campher has picked up where he left off in the first ODI. That was a great shot - a nice, positive stroke.

  7. Ire 125-6published at 35 overs

    Run-rate 3.57

A long hop from Moeen and Campher latches on to it, pulling dismissively for his third boundary.

When Eoin Morgan steps down, who better to take his place than someone who featured in last year's World Cup-winning squad, has captained his side to a one-day trophy, played very well in the winter's Big Bash and Pakistan Super League, is a very destructive batsman (his 171 in the 2018 semi-final against Yorkshire was one of the finest innings I have seen), and is now a handy in-fill bowler - step forward Mr James Vince.

  9. Ire 119-6published at 34 overs

More like it from Campher though, beautifully struck down the ground for four beyond the reach of Rashid, who finishes with 3-34, only three boundaries conceded in those 10 overs.

    Isa Guha
Ex-England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

It's frustrating viewing. You want Ireland to try and be aggressive but the problem for them is they can't take too many risks because they've lost so many wickets.

  11. Ire 114-6published at 33 overs

The end of Moeen's fifth over. David Willey is back on the field and still has four overs available.

  12. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

Only the fifth England bowler to reach this milestone in ODIs.

  13. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Tymal Mills

Rashid is wanting the batsmen to play cross-batted shots.

  14. Not outpublished at 32 overs

    Ire 109-6

No cigar, impact outside off and going over so Simi Singh survives on eight and Rashid completes his penultimate over.

  15. Postpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

It's hit him on the shoulder it seems.

  16. Postpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

The first review of the day as England ask for an lbw.

    Matthew Henry
BBC Sport at the Ageas Bowl

It has taken a crowdless match for me to appreciate how vocal Eoin Morgan is in field. He’s encouraging his bowlers after almost every ball.

  18. Ire 104-6published at 31 overs

Jonny Bairstow in good spirits behind the stumps as the sun comes out again, Mooen sending down another accurate over. Lots of beards in this England team.

  19. Postpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Tymal Mills
England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

It's been more of the same, if you're an Irish fan. Adil Rashid has been brilliant.

  20. Ire 102-6published at 30 overs

    Rashid 3-24

Umpire Millns, still recovering from the shock of this straight drive earlier in the day, signals a free-hit after Rashid's no-ball is spotted by the TV umpire but Ireland cannot profit from it, just the one boundary conceded by the England spinner, his country's fifth-highest ODI wicket-taker.
